I would say we are pretty set at the shooting guard position for years to come, just saying. Doesn't mean Hield won't be a great player or it won't turn out to be a mistake picking Dunn over him, but let's remember its two games.

Maybe. Probably.

But you can never have too many wing players who can shoot in today's NBA. Right now, it looks like the Wolves have only one of those for years to come.

Woof. That is an ugly boxscore. 35% from the field. Yowza.

I don't know who is or isn't playing for that team but even if everyone was healthy it's a very good spot he landed especially if Anthony Davis is playing. That team needed shooting and someone to be a complimentary scorer. It shouldn't be that surprising that a college senior playing on a vet team that has a good situation is playing well in preseason in a starting role.

Not sure....Thibs has some contractual flexibility with 'Bazz after this season and may decide to target another wing that can shoot this next offseason.

I know a lot of folks here are rooting for 'Bazz and still see untapped potential, but I just question his long-term fit on a roster that needs shooting and defense to compliment its best players.

I'm trying hard not to be hypocritical regarding my stance on not reading too much into preseason games. But anyone want to resume the argument as to whether playing Dunn and Rubio together is a good idea?

To be fair, I was given LaVine the benefit of the doubt as a "wing" player. He's the only known commodity as a shooter (and that's roughly 1/2 a season) that the team has. I was being generous.

I don't see Muhammad playing here beyond this season. And I have my doubts whether he even makes it through the season in Minnesota.

Interesting that you mention Hield, Jerry. I wasn't a big supporter of drafting him (although I would not have been opposed), but he has had three terrific preseason games...averaging 17 PPG in 28 minutes on 53% shooting (40% on 3's). With Evans out for awhile with a knee injury, Hield could very well be the starting SG at least at the start of the season and become the early favorite for ROY.

Wow, pretty good. But as CSNY said, "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with"
So here's hoping Dunn turns out to be better than Hield, Murray, or any of the other comps on our board.

Yeah, my recollection is you were Hield's biggest advocate here. I think I preferred Dunn to Hield, but wasn't in love with either of them...I was hoping they would trade down. I agree with Monster's take above that Buddy has found himself in a very good situation, and his terrific shooting should allow him to take advantage of it. I've liked a lot of things I've seen early with Dunn too. Time will tell what was the best move for the Wolves at 5.

I'm always going to defer to you on Seinfeld trivia, Jerry, but I'll take issue with incorrect musical references (even when well applied :)). That song was actually on a Steve Stills solo album (although Nash and Crosby added some backup vocals)...Young was nowhere to be found on the original studio version. I know...picky, picky!
