I think Stokes is going to be far better than Smith ever was. Guess we can disagree on him as a talent, but he was worth bringing up.

Craig Smith was terrific on offense and I think he wasn't a total liability on defense for limited minutes. I am sorta suprised he didn't stick for longer in the league after leaving the Wolves. Smith was one of my favorite Wolves of all time because of his unique abilities combined with how he was physically built. He was like the Tony Parker of PFs. Lol

Assuming we made a trade with Boston and took their No. 6 and 17 picks...

6: Randle
13: Stauskas
17: Warren

PG: Rubio/Barea [Yuck]
SG: Stauskas/Brewer
SF: Warren/Muhammad
PF: Randle/Bass (BOS)
C: Dieng/Olynyk (BOS)

Martin sent to a playoff team who feels they need more scoring, perimeter shooting (CHI, HOU, ATL, etc.).

Basically throw a young, fun team on the court and see what Rubio can do with them. 7 players in the rotation 23 or younger. Unleash the youth.

*Does anyone think Milwaukee would do a 6/13 for 2 deal? It's not bad value, but if they were smart they'd stay in the top-three and take one of Wiggins/Parker. For the Wolves, I'd do this and hope for Parker. He's going to make a franchise relevant.

I loved Craig Smith. I would be happy to steal Stokes in the 2nd round.

I personally would rather have Vonlesh then Randle. I think Vonlesh will be a better 2 way player and his a higher ceiling. I think Randle will struggle against longer and stonger players.

We disagree on their ceilings. I agree Vonleh will likely be a bigger presence on defense, but Randle has the mindset and aggressiveness of a top tier PF in the NBA. The confidence in his game is blatantly clear. That's not the case with Vonleh when I watched him. I'd bet almost anything that Randle turns out to be a better player than Vonleh and mindset will be a huge reason.

Assuming we made a trade with Boston and took their No. 6 and 17 picks along with Olynyk (hopefully with two future picks)... I'd be a fan of this:

6: Marcus Smart
13: Nik Stauskas
17: Jarnell Stokes
40: *Nikola Jokic
44: *Damien Ingles
53: Scottie Wilbekin

*Represents Euro stash players.

PG: Rubio/Wilbekin
SG: Smart/Stauskas
SF: Brewer/Muhammad
PF: Olynyk/Stokes
C: Pekovic/Dieng

Love the potential backcourt duos we could make: Rubio/Smart, Rubio/Stauskas, Smart/Stauskas, Wilbekin/Stauskas

I totally can see that. I watched the highlights of Randle vs Payne. He just destoyed Payne. I see Randle as Zach Randolph without the headaches. Vonleh can be Bosh. As a player I like Randolph better, but building a team I would want Bosh. It would all come down to interviewing and background work to me.

I would talk Smart over either in a heartbeat. I think he is going to be a monster in the NBA. He will be able to guard 3 players and he will just be to physical with other PG's. He will get in the paint and finish. He will get to the line. He will put people in foul trouble. He is going to be a matchup nightmare. The guy is an alpha dog at the most important position. I would trade Rubio and 6th for the 23rd if that is what it took to get him.

Spencer Dinwiddie. Remember this name. Super talented. Really good size. PG/SG. It's a shame this kid got injured. He'd be one of my favorites for us at 13. Wonder how far he falls. Could see the Spurs picking him up and him becoming a stud.
