If we get Russell in the draft I would trade Rubio. JZ said the same thing yesterday that his agent doesn't really want him here and said they likely have teams that will take him in a trade lined up.

No clue who I believe as both are pretty ridiculously uninformed. If Rubio's camp has been pushing for a trade, then I wouldn't be held back at all in drafting Russell and try to move Rubio to Sacramento.

I wonder what we could get for him.

Anyone from the pelicans or nuggets really. or maybe to the bulls for Mcbuckets

Yes, I remember how Steph Curry didn't want to be here either. Good thing we drafted Johnny Flynn instead....

No agent for a draft prospect wants their client to end up in Minnesota, especially when the other options are LA, NY and PHI. Two of those are big, big markets with a ton of glamour to them. That should have nothing to do with who MIN actually selects, however. Russell seems like a very good kid capable of being successful wherever he goes and elevating that team because of his play. You can say the same for Towns and Okafor as well.

In him I meant Rubio. I will edit that.

So let's review the bidding. JZ has been saying for a month that Okafor is #1 with Flip, and both Lipoli and I have heard the same thing from different sources within the Wolves' organization. Doesn't mean it's so, but just for fun let's assume it is. Let me repeat the question I teed up in the original post. If you are like me and prefer Towns, do you hope the Wolves get the second pick in tonight's lottery, thereby increasing the chances that they end up with Towns?

I'm very disappointed in this. I hadn't heard any dissatisfaction from Rubio on being here until now. How valid is this?

Wolfson clarified in a later tweet that Ricky isn't requesting a trade after the year he had. I trust Wolfson over Chad Ford. Ford will probably find a way to edit his tweet after the fact to make him look right either way.

It's not going to matter in the end because whoever wins the top pick is likely to take Towns at this point. We'll probably take Okafor first or second regardless of where Towns is on their draft board.

I truly believe Rubio wants to be here, but his agent doesn't. (Rubio caring about potential, his agent caring about money)
