I know this is odd, but I was looking thru the boxscore, and chose "recap" and scrolled to the bottom of the page. Bottom right, under the store headline....does Al Jefferson still play for us? Can you Seriously still buy his jersey? lol

OK so after 3 games do you think that our staff evaluated well Shabazz as NBA ready player which was main reasoning why they drafted him? i mean i can accept they didnt drafted CJ or another guys who went at 9-14 as they are not fitting well to what we need, but Bazz doesnt look NBA ready to me so i claim that we would be better with picking&stashing of Giannis Adetokunbo and adding another SF/SG at vet minimum if needed for depth purposes

its summer league.....Shabazz was told to work on some things and he is forcing himself to do so....once he gets more comfortable he will be just fine......we knew he wasn't going to be able to step right in and be a major factor but he will be able to hold his own from the get go

Lip - I do believe Hummel deserves a spot! I'm just not sure a 3/4 is what the Wolves want with that 15 spot.
I will say this (at the risk of upsetting Cool): If the Wolves hope to trade D-Will between now and the trade deadline, then keeping Hummel makes a ton of sense! :)
Q - Shabazz has grown on me. He's unlikely to contribute much this year, but he's shown me he has the tools, the desire and the right frame of mind to become one of the better players in this draft. It's on him and the coaching staff to find his niche, but I am encouraged by what I have seen and heard thus far (and, yes, I am ignoring the stats!).

I'm in agreement with your thoughts on Shabazz. Based on the eye test, I see the talent and potential.
What could the Wolves even get for DWill? Doesn't seem like too much at this point and keeping him might be the best value move we can make.

It might be 2 years away, but the biggest problem with D-Will is how his salary is going to fit with Rubio's potential max contract...

Tim, I actually see a lack of tools on Shabazz's part. He has poor quickness and anticipation skills. That's not really something you can change once you're 20+ years old. I agree that the effort is there, but it's going to take more than effort and work ethic. In my mind his upside is a Keith Bogans/James Posey rugged defender that can hit the wide open 3. But that's about it. And it does indeed take a couple years to really learn how to defend at the NBA level. He may be on a different team by then.
I realize we all want to rationalize the Shabazz pick and hope beyond hope that he will become a very good player some day. But I just don't see it and I think some of you guys are viewing him with rose-colored glasses, which isn't unusual at all with shiny new draft picks (how often have we been down this path before? Every....Single.....Time).
Re: Summer league game 3
I thought I had seen a reasonable quick first step from Shabazz, but maybe that was an illusion created by my glasses... :geek:
So who becomes the better NBA player? Shabazz or D-Will? (it's disgusting I am even willing to ponder that question)
