Here's a couple things about the Bulls...
First Rose hasn't played basketball in 2 years. For the little time he was back last year, he did not look even close to what he was. Now after a another lost year he's suppose to be back to MVP levels? Doubtful.
Rose in the playoffs? If they face the Cavs, it's going to be in the ECF. It's doubtful Rose will make it a full season, let alone make it all the way to the ECF, AND be a MVP level player? Doubtful
About the Bulls D. A big reason why the Bulls are so good on D, is because Thibs forces them to go 100% way more then any other team. While it works well in the regular season, the Bulls seem to wear down by the end of the year and has been an excuse to Rose and Noah's previous injuries.
When it came to playoff time, the WIZARDS blew them out of the water. 4-1. Nene, Wall, and Beal had their way, despite being coached by RANDY WHITMAN!
Last time Lebron faced Rose in the playoffs, he made him his bitch. Completely shut him down.
Why anybody thinks Bulls would have a chance against the Cavs is beyond me

When alex and I agree on something, I don't know what to do about it.

Great post. Keep in mind that I'll say everyone's predictions about the Bulls is obviously assuming Rose and Noah and Gasol are healthy. You are right that's a lot to ask. The Bulls have a lot of depth (young and vet) and seem to have been able to develop the young talent they have brought in which is significant since they have some young players.
Sure the Wizards beat up on the Bulls. The Bulls were playing with backup PGs and...um the Wizards were actually really good. I always found it mind boggling that the narrative was they were just a young team... But they had Nene, Gortat and Ariza had playoff experience. Washington is gonna be a team that COULD come together this year and be a team to be worried about. The talent is there. That front office has done a heck of a job turning that ship (more like a shot gun shelled canoe) around.

Cam......
When the Bulls played the Heat they had Luol Deng as well as Butler guarding Lebron. Without Deng I'm guessing Gibsons going to get some time on the Lebron as well as some time on Love.
Noah on Varejao makes no sense to me. Why waste one of your pest defenders on a offensively challenged aging center? When Gasol is in the game with Noah, Gasol will move over and guard Varejao. Noah is the perfect guy to shut down Love because he can guard him in the post and has the agility and length to step out and guard him on the perimeter. Can also challenge him on the boards.
Gibson will be playing some 3 when Noah and Gasol are in the game. That puts him on Lebron. Butler shuts down Waiters and Rose takes Kyrie.
Putting Dunleavy on the floor is a thought if you want Butler on Lebron but he'll have to move over and guard Waiters which is still a good matchup.
Any way you slice it the Bulls got a lot of options in guarding the Cavs and will make it tough on them. How are the Cavs going to guard the Bulls? Lebron on Rose? Kyrie cant guard Butler or anyone else? Whos Love going to Guard? Gasol will torch him if he's healthy....
They only defender the Cavs have that is above average is Lebron. That's a big problem.
Bulls have better coach and bench. I'm predicting home court as well.
Bulls in 6.

Well, yeah, but they don't have Deng anymore so why even bring it up? Butler will get the LeBron assignment.
Noah will be on Varejao as long as Gibson is on the floor, and it looks like he'll be a starter. He has to be or else AV is going to dominate the glass. Winning the rebounding differential is big, but it's even bigger in the playoffs.
When Gasol is paired with Noah, then sure, JoNo will slide to Love. I don't see that happening all that much. Makes Gibson's role a bit foggy.
Gibson won't play a single minute at SF. Get that outta your head. If he's in, he'll be at the 4 and a shooter (or Butler) will be at the 3. Chicago needs as much spacing as possible on offense.
And yet Cleveland will have the two best players in the series, which you aren't taking into account at all. LeBron by himself is already something to deal with. Now there's Love next to him? Go ahead and take your better bench. I'll take those guys.

I'll take the Cavs if both teams are healthy. Until Rose proves he is healthy, Love is better than anybody they have. And Lebron has no peer.

Gibsons one of the best defenders the Bulls have. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he will spend some time guarding Lebron.
When Butler gets in foul trouble who you thinking will get the Lebron assignment? McDermont, Dunleavy, and or Snell will be severely outmatched...
If Boris Diaw can guard Lebron then I'm guessing a great coach like Thibs will put two and two together and realize Gibson is a possibility...

Cavs are going to be better than the bulls no doubt. If you have the best player paired with a top 10 player and another all star and a bunch of vets that fits your team and know how to win, you are going to be a top team. Bulls are a solid team but as someone mentioned, they got destroyed by the wizards in the playoffs and seems to run out of gas. They are deeper now which should help but im still leaning towards the cavs with lebron and love. Cavs are a deep team themselves as well with their only vulnerable position being the center position because of injury risk on varejao. But i see them playing love+tt a lot and im sure they are looking to add another rotation center to their team.

If Lebron is 20lbs lighter Diaw might not be able to gaurd him anymore either. Lebron might be changing how teams can or can't defend him by slimming down. Its gonna be interesting to see if it makes any difference in his game.

Sounds like Marion has commited to the Cavs. HUGE pickup for them.
