Maybe it has something to do with our offense going to a Martin/Love two-man game down the stretch instead of just letting Rubio run the offense. Yep, we probably needed to see that happen, but Adelman didn't give a shit enough to make changes.

Cam, I think you nailed it. Adelman just didn't trust Rubio, but he had great trust in Love and Martin, so he favored having the ball in their hands (or, gasp, JJ's) at crunch time. Love and Martin were terrific scorers in quarters 1-3 when the Wolves ran their full offense, but the limited offense Adelman employed in the final minutes was just too easy to defend. I would have much preferred seeing Ricky driving and dishing. Sure, he's young and would have made some critical errors at times. But he would have learned and gotten better. And the results certainly would have been better than what Rick got.

Lip, thanks for tipping everyone off to this game being on last night. You're right, it really was a microcosm of the Wolves season...good and bad, because it was a terrific game...and provided a great opportunity to look back at a lost season as we wait for The Deal to happen.

I agree.

One thing I am proud of as a Wolves fan is Jim Peterson is one of the best guys out there. Benz started to round into at least solid form last year after a rookie type performance his first year. Lol Peterson knows what he is talking about and is just enough of a team homer but also very realistic and is willing to give critism to players or the team. He also gives the other team their due and obviously knows the players and philosophies of the opposition. Its so annoying when other team's crews obviously don't even know for example Pek's scouting report even last year. Come on what do you do to get ready for these games look at a stat sheet and eat donuts? Jim Pete is fantastic if I knew I would get him for every Wolves game then it would be easier to shell out the $$$ for the NBA Broadband package. There are some other good or solid crews out there but there are a lot of really bad ones. Its the worst when it seems like they don't even know their own players abilities that well.

Sidenote I'll miss Steve Kerr as a broadcastor he actually was pretty good.

Your thoughts on Jim Pete are right on, monster...I always enjoy his analysis and his appropriate level of homerism. I think he had a lot to do with Benz's improvement this year.

I know what you mean about the frustration of listening to some teams' announcers. I have the NBA package, and there were nights I needed to turn off the sound. Some other nights I could laugh at the announcers and enjoy them. And there are some other announcers I really enjoyed. But Jim is consistently pretty goo.

I agree on Jim Pete. He's terrific. On of the worst is the Knicks' broadcast team. Walt Frazier was a great player, but he's a terrible broadcast analyst.

I like Jim Pete becuase he knows other teams and players. It is painfully obvious that most broadcast teams dont know shit about the Wolves. Its laughable. Stacey King is god awful. Jim Barnett is one of my faves.

Houston, Boston and Golden State were awful too. I remember putting the TV on mute at times during their broadcasts. So one-sided it was tough to listen to.

I was going to mention Stacey. He's right there with Frazier for worst game broadcast analyst.

Lol I remember tweeting Stacey King last season letting him know the mistakes he continuously made about the Wolves and their players and he responded like a complete tool. Telling me I was "just a fan" and "didn't know enough about the game to correct him".

Riiiight. Keep gettin' them checks. Ignorant motherfucker.

Good point. Not surprising that Ricky was so happy with the announcement that Flip would be our new head coach. I suspect Flip knows a little bit about how to use a PG with Ricky's skills. It should be a stark contrast to what we saw in 4th quarters last season.
