This is over blown. I am sure if they told him we are trading you to the Wolves for Love. He would be happy get a chance to play with Rubio and Pekovic.

He doesn't want to be traded. Not to mention he likely wants to compete for a championship right away. What player wouldn't?

If I was 23 and had a choice between being the 3rd string PF on a championship contending team or starting for up and coming lottery team. I would take the lottery team. People are making this whole non-trade to be something it is not.

Well, let's get something corrected first. He's not the third string center; that's not even his position. He's set up to be the backup power forward to Gibson and play with Gasol off the bench and has the skillset to become the starter in the future. If you'd rather play on a lottery team, then by all means, go ahead. I'd rather be a rotation player on a championship contending team who, in a few years, will give me an opportunity to start regularly. I'd bet that 97% of NBA players would agree with that take. The other 3% are the JaVale McGee, J.R. Smith, Tyrus Thomas types... bafoons.

You're acting like Chicago didn't make a promise to Mirotic. This promise was that they wouldn't trade him, and it was this promise that got him to leave his Euro ball as well as play on a contending NBA team. Understand that if they go back on their word it does not look good around the league, and more importantly to future Euro prospects.

I gotta agree with Cam on this one. I see almost no chance of Mirotic being included in a trade. And without him, any Bulls deal falls way short of a Wiggins-based trade, even with as much as I like McDermott.

Bulls just need t make it right with Mirotic. It would be a small sales job. Not a deal killer everyone is making it out to be.

It was Chris Sheridan who reported last week that the Bulls offer was Gibson, Mirotic and McDermott. It should go without saying that Chris is a very reliable NBA reporter. And regardless of what Mirotic might have wanted or what assurances he might have received from the Bulls, absent a no-trade clause in his contract, the Bulls will trade him if that's what it takes to get Kevin Love. The guy they might refuse to deal for Love would be Jimmy Butler.

Ehh. Sheridan isn't all that reliable. He throws a lot of shit against the wall and hopes it sticks. He stayed true with his LeBron to Cleveland "source", but a lot of us saw that coming before Sheridan even said a word.

Would the Bulls trade McDermott, Butler, and Mirotic for Wiggins?

I'd want all four from the Bulls since they aren't giving us any game changers overall. It's just a platter of career role players. They'd also have to take back Martin from us and give us a pick, otherwise I take the Wiggins deal 10/10 because he'll be much cheaper than the collective Bulls platter, yet he has a higher upside than any player in the Bulls deal by far. I view a Wiggins/Bennett gamble as a much better move than the perennial 8th seed in the West the Bulls deal would get us. This league is still dominated by stars, so I think you try to get stars whenever you can even if it is going to take time and work to make them stars.
