Philly and Milwaukee aren't exactly set at center. Would they bite on Pek + 13 for their top three pick? I think I would if I were them. And the Wolves get Wiggins, unload Pek's contract and give Dieng the minutes he needs to maximize his potential.

Long, don't move. I've called 911. I think you must have fallen and hit your head. :)

Cam, agree. The issue is that Exum doesn't move the needle for us next season. It all hinges on what we plan to do with Love. If we plan to move forward with him, and all of the recent talk is simply drivel coming from random speculation (which it certainly could be), then I choose Ricky over Exum...warts and all. If we have an intention to move Love either immediately or in-season, then a guy like Exum is certainly interesting. If draft stays true to form (which it never does), then it becomes harder to convince a team to take Rubio. The only teams in need of a PG in top 5 are potentially Mil.....but there is no way they trade #1 pick, and Orlando, currently at #3, and it will depend on who is available. If either Parker or Wiggins fall to 3, then again, I don't think there is any way they do a deal. If Parker/Wiggins go 1 and 2, then I could see Orlando having mild interest as they don't really need a center. Reality though, if they want a PG, they would be smarter to just take Exum as he is controlled for 5 years vs having to pay Rubio a huge increase in 2 years. Saying that, there may not be a way to get up high enough to get Exum. Now, if Lakers jump to #3...then we may have a play.

You know, I did wake up with a little headache this morning.

But seriously, is my suggestion that preposterous? Pek is an 18 and 10 guy, and there aren't many centers in that club. It seems a productive center like Pek has to equal moving up 10 slots in a deep draft. Doesn't Pek and McDermott help a rebuilding team with multiple holes more than Wiggins?

Maybe I'm overvaluing Pek.

It's not really that you're overvaluing Pek, I think. It's that you might be undervaluing what a Wiggins/Parker can do for a franchise. They need a center, true, but this league is won on the wing/perimeter.

The team slotted for the 13th overall selection has moved into the top three once since the lottery was implemented (Charlotte, 1999).

...So you're saying there's a chance! :thumb:

Long, I think the best shot at moving Pek is a deal with Cleveland for Varajao and either Waiters or the first rounder. I am not sure Cleveland would do it, but I think Pek would be a good fit with Irving. Looking at that as a best case, you could offer up the #9 with #13 and try and move up, but not sure that would get it done. Moving Pek to Mil or Philly seems very unlikely because both are starting their rebuilds, and Pek is a "now" player. Maybe the three team deal would get it done, but I think we are overvaluing Pek here. Teams value athleticism, and D from their centers.
