The more i think of it, the more i think your right that cavs wont do it. Lets face it, varejao with a lesser salary and an expiring is as valuable as pek with his 4 years left at 12m per. Considering both their injury history and varejao being a better rebounder and defender. Pek is better offensively but factor in contract and cap flexibility as well as the reality that cavs isnt pek away from being good, then cavs wont trade for him and give up their top 2 best trade asset. I dont think cavs do that trade even if we take jack and sub martin in for bud.

I do. You have to realize that Cleveland's in a "win now" situation like we are. If Kyrie doesn't see a winner with the Cavs, he's outta there. They just gave up a first round pick for a rental of Luol Deng to try and make the playoffs. Pek fits in Cleveland. Best option on the P&R for Kyrie, low post animal which they lack and Thompson makes a nice PF pairing next to him.

Pek is by far the proven, best player in the deal. The only reason we're doing it is to help our guard situation and make our frontcourt more team defense-oriented. I still fully believe that the Cavs would love a Pekovic deal, though, and if it's one that rids them of Jack's contract in the process? Even better for them.

Irving
Harris (draft)
Miles
Thompson
Pekovic

I dont know cam. That lineup doesnt scream sure playoffs to me. I agree that pek would be an ideal p and r partner of irving, but varejao and waiters are very good players themselves. Also, if cavs will be dealing them, they might target someone much better than pek and they have cap flexibility on their side. Pek would be a 4th option for them and you rarely go with your 4th option.

I dont' know if Cleveland would do it, but it would be based on what they see as a fit to the system they want to run. Pek would be a second option in that lineup though, and AV and Waiters are average players. They may go a different direction, but value wise the trade works.
