Didn't see the game tonight but was shocked to see Gorgui's great line...again...wow. 41 minutes? And this from a guy who for 60 games barely played outside of garbage time?? Adelman!!!!!!!!

Here is a question: barring a trade, are Grogui and Pek capable of playing some minutes together? Probably Gorgui guarding the power forward?

Regardless, this is a fantastic development to an otherwise apathetic finish to another season. GD 4-life.

I do think dieng and pek can play together. Dieng has lateral quickness much better than other pf's in the league. Can love-pek and dieng co exist as a 3 man big rotation? I think so.

Having said that, i would explore deals for pek this off season for a wing player. I like pek a lot but he maybe the only guy that has trade value to get us a quality wing in retuen. An upgrade over kevin martin. G's play off late has been a huge boosts for us. If he can keep it up it opens up more option for us moving forward.

I'm not saying G is going to be a double double guy every night, but this is not a fluke. This is who he is. He has a lot of tools and a high basketball IQ. He can be as good as his work ethic will allow.

Has anybody heard anything all year about his knees? I know that was a concern around draft time but I haven't heard about it since.

The one thing about GD is he definitely possesses the skills the team lacks: shot blocking, shot altering, and athleticism--even though he looks weird out there (the way he runs, or is that just me?), the dude gets around the court fast.

Gorbui's play is what's keeping me from sinking into apathy. (that and the huge bet I have on the Wolves finishing .500). I'll take it.

not to mention his stamina...led the team with 21 minutes in the first half and didn't seem to tire.

ADELMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :furious:

Actually, Dieng was exhausted and looked it. I was at the game. It got to the point that he wasn't even making it across half court to get back on defense. Not an effort issue. This kid is all effort. He literally couldn't get his legs to move from pure exhaustion.

Otherwise, I agree with all the superlatives in this thread. Yes, he's raw, but he is playing well and could turn out to be special.

Dieng is my guy, I've defended Flip on a few occasions based on the fact Dieng was the one player I wanted us to draft. I thought going into the season we'd have a rotation of Love, Dieng, and Pek at the 4/5 spots. Unfortunately we have a terrible coach and it took 2 injuries to force him to even play Dieng, hopefully his play has opened Adelman's eyes and we can finally see that rotation (if Pek gets healthy).

Draft a SG, trade Pek for Deng, sign a backup PG. We're good to go.

*if only it was that easy*

I am beyond happy to see Dieng get some play time finally. Being a Center, it will take him a while to get acquainted to the physical play and pace of the NBA, but I have been a huge fan of him and happy we took him this Summer. He has intelligence, hustle and ability to pass and rebound. Sky really is the limit with him, but damn....Adelman needs to go and a coach that can develop youth needs to come in ASAP

Hey Cam -- You are right that it's not easy to make these sorts of moves happen. On the other hand, the specific moves you mention are realistic. And there are likely comparable moves to improve the team that are realistic as well. We'll have to see. There is reason for hope as long as we have Love and Rubio here. I think you and I agree that we shouldn't trade Pek just to trade him. But we need to shop him aggressively.

I am loving what I am seeing with GD, but the thing that worries me about him, how will he hold up over a season and is this success he is having because he hasn't been used all year, and he is not worn down like the other Centers he is going against every night? With that said I love what he is bringing to the table and he gives me hope, same with shabazz (wish he could get consistent minutes) I have been back and forth with idea of trading Pek, and I am torn if the right deal comes around I do it but if not, I would play Pek off the bench and surround him with three point specialists, hope Bud could help on this, sign blake as the backup PG, draft Stauskas (not sold on him)
