Great win. I figured two out of three of our injured guys would play tonight. I was surprised (and happy) to see all three. I'm not sure we win that game without all three. It certainly would have been a lot closer.

15 rebounds by Rudy. Check
18 points from Naz. Check
16 points/13 rebounds by Edwards.

Not bad for a bunch of injured guys. The best part of all them playing is it pushed TJ Warren off the court completely.

And as someone who has been pretty critical of McDaniels game this year, it's starting to seem like he is turning the corner (on his offensive game). If he continues this - other teams better watch out. We coming!

Great post, Lip! Thank you for that!

I watched the game late last night. I think that was the most aggressive and vintage Mike Conley we have seen this year. If he is able to continue that level of play, the Wolves might get me to that 60 game mark after all! :D

Should JMac be getting more of Monte's minutes? He's been great of late.

It’s a great option to have both available!

And yes, I have not had a good run of starting GDTs. I'm glad you started it, because this is the first game in a long time that I will miss! So I will be watching either late tonight, or tomorrow morning.
1-0 for me when starting game threads. You are welcome! :D
Take the next Denver game...I double dog dare you!

Great win. As others have said, this was a great team win...almost everyone played very well, and I can't disagree with Q's generous grading. A couple observations:

-Cleveland is a very disciplined good team, and they wanted this win. We had two teams entertaining thoughts of finishing second, and both needed this game. We needed our A game, and we got it.

-Big growth game for Ant. Not only did he have terrific defender Okoro on him like white on rice, but he usually had a help defender eyeing him too. This was not going to be a 30-point Ant game, so he contributed in other ways...rebounding, defense, and assisting. Only 6-17 shooting, but still an effective +12.

- How about Finchie's full house lineup...3 PGs and 2 centers! Unorthodox, but fun to watch!

-Good to see an engaged, happy KAT on the bench...hurry back!

-JMac is now 48% on threes for the season, and 63.2% in his last 10 games! So why do I still not feel confident when he shoots them...shame on me!

-After getting our asses kicked on the boards with Rudy out, we returned to winning the rebounding battle with him back. Defense, rebounding, and 52% three-point shooting is a great prescription for beating a good team. The only downside was our 8-16 free throwing and Jaden's 5 turnovers (although only 6 more from the rest of the team).

Golden State next. I changed it to a projected loss after KAT went down, but now I think we will be favored. Great chance for another Anti-Klunker

Agree, thank you Lip for the read out from the front row (or nearly front row)!

Yeah, Conley had some zip in his step last night. I was surprised how quick he looked.

Couldn't agree more about the Conley comments...Jim Pete also commented on it a couple times.

Lip, courtside is a unique experience...I've only done it once. You can't fully appreciate just how big and fast these guys are until you're way up close. My first time courtside was an Alan Iverson game. He got hammered badly every time he drove the lane, but he kept doing it...I gained a lot of respect for him that night.

However, Lip, would you agree it's kind of difficult to follow the game when you're that close? These guys who shell out thousands for the front row don't get to see the game as well as many others in the arena.

I agree with your comment on Ant. It was a mature performance by him, much different than the 27 shots he jacked up the last time they played Cleveland.

As for JMac's shooting, it appears other teams feel the same way as you do. Almost every single one he takes is barely contested - he has all day to line them up and is almost always perfectly balanced and square. The good news is that eventually teams are going to catch on and stop leaving him so wide open, which in turn will lead to more cutting and driving lanes for others.

As for the playoffs, I think Finch will flex between JMac and Monte depending on matchups. One thing JMac is vulnerable to is switch baiting against big scoring guards and wings, something a playoff opponent will hone in on more (they'll look to target Conley too by the way). Monte can hold up a little better in those situations because he's bigger and stronger.
