The more I think about this the more of a bad taste I have in my mouth. What the hell was Taylor talking about saying we built something and he wants to see it through. The best thing he ever did for this franchise was to sell it. Im very fearful this is going to get messy and in typical Taylor fashion this will go downhill.

ARod and Lore just appeared on Dane Moore's podcast for a 30 minute conversation! They just uploaded it to YouTube a few minutes ago, I'm about to start watching now, I'm sure it'll be very juicy

A-Rod did not mince words.

This was so telling:

We knew Glen didn't really know TC like that, but when A-Rod/Lore mentioned pursuing him, Glen said "why are you wasting your time? People like Tim don't come here."

From Dan Bowling on Twitter:

Everyone's asking for my take on the Lore + Arod situation. Instead of replying to all the DM's here you go:

1. The contact is ironclad regarding a call option around the closing. This basically says the NBA has to approve before they can close, therefore an automatic extension. The contract is below - enjoy!

Obviously, if the NBA doesn't approve, you're not going to pay for the ownership. That's spelled out here. So, Glen is in breach of contract. Also, the March 27th date is fictional, real deadline is now the end of June as they await NBA approval.

2. I'm not sure why Glen continues to make false statements, which he's done multiple times regarding dates, but it's been clear many times that he doesn't understand his own deal. Odd too, as these are his partners even if they don't secure the next 40%. Marc and Alex have certainly helped increase the valuation of the entity - Glen can't just take that back now.

3. What will happen next: Marc and Alex rarely speak about rumors and untruths, which is why they have been quiet. However, Glen putting out press releases and saying the team is not for sale will force their hand.

I'm sure you'll hear from Marc and Alex soon to clear up their whole story, hopefully on my favorite podcast...

4. The end game: Glen's historical reputation will be amplified as he's forced to sell his shares because he didn't understand his own deal

A-Rod: "We can be in this (fight) for five years, 10 years, whatever. We’re not going to let go."

Lore: "We will use every ounce of effort here to enforce the contract that Glen broke."

Glen Taylor has barred both from back hallways of arena and communication with team execs.

I don't think Glen is actually that big of an idiot. He knew exactly what he was doing. He had his shill reporters continue to simply report BS for years that Lore and Arod are broke and won't/can't buy the team. It was all done calculated (as much as he could, because he is a bit of a moron afterall) and though greed.

Dude is a snake. He doesn't want to honor the contract now that the Wolves are trending up and worth way more, but tough luck sucka.

I really dont know what to make of Glen's position other than it is ugly and seems like typical Glen. Always dysfunction with that guy. The one thing I am sure of is that greed has something to do with all of this.

I'm not sure it's greed. I think it's ego and a visceral sense of mortality given his age.

I’ve been one of Glen’s biggest defenders over the years, but I’m not cutting him any slack on this. I don’t think there’s any question that Lore and A-Rod have the money to complete their purchase and IF they missed material deadlines those misses were clearly technicalities that may or may not be enforceable if challenged. This was Glen overcome by seller’s remorse and by envy over the attention and affection directed towards Lore and A-Rod. But you don’t need me to tell you that; it’s essentially what Glen said.

I don’t find FNG’s home value analogy persuasive. It’s true that most of us (probably all of us) would exit a deal to sell our home if we could make an extra $200K if we had a clear legal path to do so. But Glen’s situation isn’t comparable. If I were 80 years old with 2 billion dollars and had reached agreement to sell the Wolves for another 1.2 billion dollars to popular owners who engineered key moves that put the team in first place and I could still remain a significant minority owner with my floor seats, I would not take advantage of a technicality to block the sale just so I can bask in more glory and deflate the spirit that has developed around the team. His announcement that he’s taken the team off the market is telling. It tells us that he’s going to keep the team until he dies, knowing that none of his heirs want to own the team and will likely sell it without stipulating that they remain in Minnesota.

I’ve always thought of Glen as a sweet, affable man with lots of money. KG has called him a snake and despises his so much he refuses to have his number retired while Glen remains the majority owner. Glen’s action in this instance tells me that KG’s take is much closer to the truth than mine, which isn’t surprising since KG obviously knows him much better than I do.

Will this impact the team on the floor? I don’t know. This announcement is such a buzz kill. Short term we’re probably OK. But longer term we’re back in the hands of an owner whose stewardship produced a perennial loser. Upon Glen’s passing, it’s highly likely his heirs will sell the team to an ownership group that takes the team out of Minnesota. When an average family takes advantage of a technicality to get another $100 or $200K on a house sale, it’s understandable. When a billionaire takes advantage of a technicality because his ego morphs into seller’s remorse, it’s hubris. I hope Lore and A-Rod take Glen to court and kick his ass there.
