Ha, so true Leado! There is still a lot of uncertainty about this team, but there is some evidence that we might be more talented and deep than most of the teams we play...we certainly were last night. I don't like to see us coast for the first 3 1/2 quarters, but if the outcome is like last night, I'll take it. I suspect we will see a similar performance tonight against a relatively bad Portland team.

Abe's Next Day DVR Review:

- I take mental notes while watching these games. And I had a laundry list of things to discuss in this one. And then the last 9 minutes happened.

- As noted already here... good teams put the hammer down when they need to. Bad teams let it happen to them.

- But for reals... the defense has to get better. A lot better.

[Note: One point that stood up though... Naz Reid's body language. From the moment he entered the game, he seemed frustrated. He pounded the ball hard after a Bulls bucket. He shook his head, seemingly in frustration or disgust. Over and over again. He finished with 4 points and 2 rebounds and was the worst player in the game for the Timberwolves.]

Good observation on Naz Abe. I didn't notice the body language, but I did notice how he was scored on, around, and through on like five consecutive plays by different Bulls players. It's not for lack of effort or physical profile (he's got a Lip-worthy wingspan!). He's just not good defensively.

It's funny, Abe...my honey said the same thing about Naz last night. She pointed out his body language early in the game and said he was just off mentlaly. And yeah, he had a bad game at both ends of the court. But we also saw Joe Ingles cracking Naz up on the bench during a timeout after the game was well in hand. Two observations: Joe is very funny, and very good at keeping his teammates loose. And although Naz had a bad game, he seemed very happy that his team won decisively...he only played 18 minutes last night (nice work, Finchie) and I expect him to bounce back tonight with a good game against Portland.

Ha, I remember seeing that too. Ingles was literally holding court and I remember two or three guys around him just laughing it up, including Naz.
