I commented that the Bears defense looked rather porous to me last week. Well, today a Lions team that only put up 246 against the Packers last week, put up 511 yards against those same Bears...including 5 TD passes. I thought the Bears defensive backs looked inept last week, except for the pick 6. Just trying to provide some perspective to JJ's performance last week. I think he'll see a better defense tonight, and a competent performance might put one of my feet on the bandwagon. Let's go Vikings (and JJ...both of them)!
Nashon Wright was out there last game...he isn't exactly a good player. If he was a starter against the Lions...not exactly a shock. To me it doesn't matter what level the first few games are wildly unpredictable. The fact that the Vikings already got one game I'll take it. They could look like poop dogs in game 2 and I wouldn't freak out although it would be a little concerning.

After laying an egg in GB it was pretty obvious Detroit would come back strong at home, I thought a win by 10+. They did win 15 games last year and are really talented still.

It's a good sign for them to come out and explode offensively on someone. I think that's going to be big for them mentally. Like you said they are still pretty talented.

Football is such a sport that relies on motivation so much, once a team gets too high on a win or beat down on a loss, look for the swing the other way. Just seems to repeat itself quite consistently.
Like last year when Darnold was carried around the locker room like we won the fucking SB in week 16, guess what? Expectations now had to be lived up to, we hadn't won the SB but we acted and celebrated like we had!!! Complete collapse against the Lions (For the 1 seed) and Rams playoff flop ensued. It scared the crap out of me when I saw them over celebrating that last win with Darnold. You just can't do that. Stay a bit more metered and even. The job wasn't even close to done in week 16.
I think we probably got a bit too high last week also after the game. Guys were probably not AS driven and AS focused during practice and the game as they needed to be. Meanwhile the Falcons came off a close loss and were very determined to show the world what they got. They did.
