Lynx now with the best record in the WNBA after beating the Dream by 15 tonight. Unbelievable.
Missing 7 of their top 9 from a title contender a year ago. Cheryl just made another title contender with a whole new bunch. And they are getting a top 3 player in the league and the Euro League MVP still this season

Looks like a great performance, shot 60% from the field. Must be the reason Reese only had 8 rebounds.

Didn't see the game, but 15 assists from our starting backcourt is nice. As for Reese only having 8 rebounds, she also played only 27 minutes, fewest of the starters despite not being in foul trouble. Was there an injury? Despite coming into the game 4-1, there may be trouble in paradise...a lot of talk in the Atlanta media that with her low shooting percentage and high TO rate, the Dream have actually been better when Reese has been off the court. Last night for instance they were a -16 in her 27 minutes and a +1 in her 21 bench minutes. I think this is a watch situation.

For context I’m a pretty big Reese fan (she has won at every level outside of the WNBA). I have seen 3 dream games this year. She is slowly but surely falling into her role has a rebounder, PnR cutter and playing good defense. With that said the dream coach is an extreme example of wanting to shoot 3s so Reese was in the corner a lot yesterday and she missed 2 corner 3s (one airball). Some of the reason why Reese played less yesterday is the dream fell down big twice yesterday so they went into the small ball 3 point lineup to try and get back in the game. I thought yesterday was Reese best around the hoop yesterday. In general though Reese turnovers have been bad this year.

I respect Reese's game because she works extremely hard and is tenacious. She's not the most skilled player but man does she battle out there. She could play for my team any day.

Lynx cut Emese Hoff (development contract)
Resign Hamzova (was a full time to developmental)
Sign Tieara Mccowan: She is a super talent 6’7 big who gets the rap of being sort of lazy

This all sounds good to me. I saw various posts on Twitter from fans so I gather she is definitely a flawed player. She is gonna get a shot to play here at least for a while till others get healthy. He is experienced and played a lot of NBA games including plenty of starts so that's a positive.
I also like they are keeping Hamzova. I kinda hope King maybe still gets a shot at some minutes here and there (being a DP complicated that) because based on what I have seen in a few games she seems like she might be a worthwhile bench player.

Agree with everything you said. They have already used 7 of their eligible 24 DP games this season. So I like that they were able to convert Hamzova who hasn’t been needed yet to a DP contract.
I also have like king, I believe she has 9 games left. Will be really interesting to see what happens with king if she runs out of games.
Also McCown is the Lynx first traditional post since Fowles. She is very similar to Cardoso and like the add for help to the bench until dorka and Phee are back

McCown has put up some pretty good traditional stats and is said to be slow and not locked in. If she was locked in...well she could be a pretty nice player. She isn't supposed to be all that great defensively but I'll settle for her being big scoring and being someone with legit size against the bigger centers.
I guess depending on how long Phee and Dorka are out they could sign King to a hardship contract right since that makes 3 players injured? They could even do that before King uses up all her DP games so they could resign her to a DP contract...if nobody else picks her up. Before or at the start of the season Reeve didn't sound too excited about using that exeption but maybe if it means being able to play king for a couple weeks that might be more palatable than paying someone for a larger number of weeks.
Meanwhile I saw Phee and Dorka out there doing the electric slide no boots or anything. That's still a ways away from being able to play basketball but it's a nice sign.

There is a lot of shared admiration here for Cheryl Reeve (No, I'm not going to start a fire Cheryl poll) and appreciation of Angel Reese's game. Don't we then have to criticize Reeve for declining to draft Reese in 2024 and instead trading down to get draft bust Pili? The draft capital we got back seems miniscule to what we gave up.
