That would shut up the folks who are crying about the Randle trade at least. But yeah I also want to see an Ant centric team before making him share the spotlight again.

Yeah, he's pretty ball dominant and very similar to Ant in that he prefers to iso guys. He's also turnover prone and not as efficient as Ant. Of course the two of them would be a huge handful for most defenses since not many teams have two bigger wings that can guard them, so they'd be hunting down mis-matches like crazy while guys like Ayo and Naz spread the floor for them. Also, Ant would be our starting PG in this scenario, right? Either that or Jaden or Naz has to go to the bench.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 3:24 pmThat would shut up the folks who are crying about the Randle trade at least. Naz and Jaden front court, Ant Jaylen and Ayo back court. Positionless ball like finch likes….maybe Ant and Jaylen can invent away for both of them to handle the ball simultaneously. It would be unguardable!

I agree with you. I just posted it because there predictions markets are not wrong a ton and with a spike that happened usually someone who knows something made a big bet.
Not saying it will happen or I want it to happen I just think it’s noteworthy

Maybe Cool and FNG get their wish -- ANT traded for Jaylen Brown?!?kekgeek wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 4:07 pmI agree with you. I just posted it because there predictions markets are not wrong a ton and with a spike that happened usually someone who knows something made a big bet.

BTW, I am just yanking their chains...

Ha! Believe it or not, FNG may have a LOT more problems with Brown versus Ant. Have you seen his net on/off rating the past few years? Not good!60WinTim wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 4:14 pmMaybe Cool and FNG get their wish -- ANT traded for Jaylen Brown?!?

Not saying I want Jaylen. But the Celtics want a Center and we have the trade exception. I know we can not combine the exception with Rudy but can we do a three team thing with Rudy going to team A and the exception going to Team B?
Just legally trying to figure out the exception options.

Disclaimer, I haven't read every post here. That said, what are the more realistic moves on the table? Particularly to address the fact that additional ball handling is still a need imo, and I would also like to see another versatile defender.
By realistic I mean not doing one of the big trade options that cost them Rudy, because I don't think that's happening --- although I don't think it's off the table either.
The new starting 5 is fine imo and I don't think it's unreasonable that they could be great. If they can be an unselfish, synergistic group then it can still be one of the better starting 5s in the league. I really believe that. As things stand however, and trying to apply more sober analysis, i'm not confident that this group has a higher ceiling than the 6th seed.
So again, what are the moves on the margins available to them? What would some of you all like to see?

Re: Wolves Next Moves in Post-Randle Era
I've mentioned it a bunch of times, but in the absence of a bigger move to get someone like Derrick White or Josh Giddey, I'd like to see them go get Scotty Pippen Jr. or Cam Spencer from Memphis. Both can handle the ball, with Pippen Jr. being better defensively and Spencer better offensivley. I don't think it would take more than a future 2nd or two to get either one of them. Memphis has a glut of guards - they literally don't have enough playing time for even half of them to get on the court.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 5:17 pm Disclaimer, I haven't read every post here. lol you think trading Rudy for white or Suggs is gonna keep or defensive floor at the same level? What have you been watching the last few years man? I hope it happens so I can say I told you so. Rudy is THE reason we’ve been a good defensive team recently. It’s not always pretty, but a guard isn’t going to have that same defensive impact, I’m sorry.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 10:35 amI agree with your observation on Ayo’s contract. It’s clearly not an overpay. I also agree with your other points except I’m not entirely with you on TC keeping Rudy. I don’t think TC is determined to trade Rudy but I suspect he’s seriously exploring that option. There’s a solid group of free agent centers any one of which could provide a reasonable bridge to Beringer and/or Rocco. At the same time, trading Rudy for a top defensive PG like White or Suggs would keep our defensive floor in tact without Rudy.60WinTim wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 10:28 am A couple of thoughts/predictions:
- Monster -- the guy coming back from Chicago will slide into a portion of NAW's trade exemption, so the 33 mil TPE will remain intact.
- I don't see Rudy going anywhere. We need at least one more year of transition time for Joan, and I don't see TC giving up the team's defensive floor.
- It seems "ball-handling" should still be on TC's list of priorities...
- And a BIG who can shoot ought to be on that priority list as well.
- I doubt we hear anything at the draft tonight about a trade involving the trade exception, as the trade exception will not be created until after July 1st.
- We passed on Rasheer Fleming last year with pick 31. I wonder what happens with pick 33 tonight?!? TC will probably be flexible: if there's someone he likes, he'll take him. If not, he'll trade out of it, probably for future 2nd(s).
- The overpay comments on Ayo are silly. 112 mil only seems big because it's over 5 years. It starts at 19.3 mil. Many of us were fine with 3 years at 52 mil (the amount he could sign before July 1st). Now it is equivalent to 3 years at 62 mil. Oh, and Ayo >> than NAW!
