I think Ant Harris is a guy I feel pretty good about if he has to start because of injury but it doesn't hurt to have someone even better. Obviously Iloka is going to take someone's job on the roster but it's not going to be anyone at the top of it. There has been some chatter about a safety rotation which actually sounds pretty good. Smith has to play a ton and Sendejo playing less night help him stay healthy. Heck rotate maybe even Ant Harris in there some too. All these guys are likely top special teams guys if you put them in there.

I figured we probably got him for a fairly reasonable deal but less than a million bucks!?!??? Wow

Vikings gave S George Iloka a one-year, veteran-minimum $790,000 deal, plus $90,000 to sign, per source. Iloka wanted to be reunited with Mike Zimmer.

Sweet Jesus that is a good deal for Vikings.

I love how he could be used. I think we play less 4-3 and go with 3 safeties.

Smith has proven to be exceptionally good at shifting spots when called upon. Per PFF, he played 577 snaps as a safety, 277 snaps at linebacker, 153 at slot corner, 112 off the edge and 34 as an outside corner.

well I watched the game this morning. here are some basic thoughts.

Cousins has a pretty good arm. I hope we can protect him. The offense was pretty decent even though it wasn't pretty and this was against Seattle.

CJ Ham looked very impressive catching the ball out of the backfield and making moves in the open field. They were using him in single back for a stretch of plays.

Siemian did not have great protection but he did not look good.

I've been hearing Sloter has not looked good in camp and practices etc and Siemian has clearly been the better QB. Dude showed out last night. He will probably get plenty of chances to impress next week also.

Chad Beebe is awesome. This guy has absolutely came out of nowhere and it almost feels like this guy has to make the roster. Meanwhile Kendall Wright seemingly has been next to invisible when it seemed like he was a lock to make the roster when he was signed.

Iloka made an impact right away.

Eric Wilson continues to impress.

The defense was pretty good overall even though Seattle moved the ball especially on the ground at times.

Carlson misses 2 FGs after winning the kicking job. Ugh........sigh

I saw one play were Edison got absolutely bent back by a DT, but somehow he recovered and was able to hold his block and did his job.

Caleb Jones got arrested so I don't think his possible spot on the roster is in question now.

Also Mychal Kendricks...

Not signing him and ending up with Iloka for peanuts sadly looks even better now.

Last game over. Time for cuts.

Cuts at OL, WR, and DB will be interesting.

Biggest take away from the game (watched it this morning) was how comfortable Holden Hill looked as a returner. It's not that he had some good returns (that was good also) but it looked easy for him to catch it and then make some plays. Badett...did not look good at all.

Edison didn't even play and Isadora got the start at C.

Roc Thomas had some nice runs and then went down with an injury. Hopefully we get him back on the PS. He has some more natural make you miss game to him than Boone who basically has that spot locked up now.

I really like the depth on this tea at DB, OL, RB, and DL I think we could use help at LB, WR, and TE.

(OL is deep, but we have a team full of solid backups) O'Neill is starting to tilt bust in my eyes to a fair degree. It is not good when a second-year UDFA is ahead of you on the depth chart. Maybe his future is at TE.

People should be happy with the way Brian O'Neill is developing. You witnessed the potential through flashes in the preseason. The more reps he receives, the better. I really think the Vikings have something with him.

I am a leary Viking fan. We have had a few of these projects and we spent a second rounder on this one. TJ Clemmings and Willie Beavers showed the makings too. Btw - TJ Clemmings got cut by Redskins. I am sure Kirk is begging for us to bring him back.
