At least Joe still looks like Joe at the dish. MauerForMVP??
I expect Mauer to have a huge year. I've never caught an inning in my life, but I know those guys take a beating. Playing defensively at 1b will make a big difference in Joe at the plate. I see .330 and over 100 rbis.
Some good things are starting to take shape. Gardy is pissed off about Mastroianni missing cutoff man yesterday, and with Pressley not hitting at all, I gotta believe Hicks is in the driver's seat for starting CF. I think that's good. Although I would like to see Pinto as the starting C, at east Suzuki is hitting okay this spring. Santana has really been hitting the ball, but a couple errors are going to cost him. Let's hope Floriman can turn things around at the plate, because I like his defense.
Further indication that there is no longer a race for the 5th SP spot: Gibson's bad outing today. I still see Gibson in the rotation by the end of the year because of an injury or trade, but he needs to pick it up.

Like I've always said I love Deduno stuff, but the man can't stay healthy. I also like Gibson stuff too so I agree cam I believe he'll be up by August 1st

The Twins cut eight players from camp this morning - lethander Kris Johnson, catcher Eric Fryer and shortstop Danny Santana were optioned to Class AAA Rochester. Lefthander Sean Gilmartin, outfielder Darin Mastroianni, outfielder Jermaine Mitchell, infielder James Beresford and third baseman Brandon Waring were assigned to the minor league camp.
You guys keep telling me Florimon can be a two way short stop hope you guys are right I really like Santana. Also glad to see Mastro go that means hicks gets another chance at starting on opening day.

I'm not totally sold on Florimon at all, jester, but I think this is the right move. Santana has a great future, but he didn't make some routine plays this spring...and Gardy won't accept that from his shortstop.
I'm completely on board with Florimon defensively, but he needs to give us more at the plate. I like that he showed some surprising power last year, and with 10 pounds of muscle added in the off-season, 15 home runs is not out of the question...especially if he stops trying to hit from the right side.

The Vanimal goes on waivers. Gibson replaces Deduno for the start on March 25th. No more starts for Diamond either.

Bartlett also been getting some looks in the outfield. CF/RF to be specific. Giving him plenty of chances, but he hasn't hit well.

Tweet from Lavel Gibson to become 5th starter Deduno to the bullpen. I called it :)
