If O'Neill develops and Elfein continues to improve we have a great young left side of the line in place. I really think Isadora must have impressed Zim there. Starting at center and cutting Edison. It is crazy he is starting instead of Jones there too.
Today Cousins said Jones was the center at walk though... I guess we will see what happens.
.
That seems more realistic to me. The center qb exchange is huge.

Collins done for the season and the Vikings signed bryan witzmann who was let go by the chiefs. FWIW he was ranked as not terrible by PFF as a guard for KC last year. It's possible the Vikings Oline has actually gotten better even losing 2 guys with season ending injuries.

Oh my!! I still have hopes for Collins moving forward, but will take another experienced player.

Interesting new guy was starter last year and lost his job in preseason this year. He is a local guy being from Somerset. I like the signing. Is he an upgrade over Compton at LG?

It's being reported he canceled his other visits because he thought there was good opportunity here which makes sense. It's kinda fun that both he and Compton went to college in South Dakota. As for upgrading the line...PFF has Compton rated as the #3 guard so far this year so... lol Regardless I feel more comfortable with this Oline than I did a couple weeks ago. It feels like the Vikings have done a nice job of adding quality vets to a line that had a need even before the injuries.

PFF makes you scratch your head sometimes. I felt Easton was the weak link last year and think it will be Compton this year. I really liked the signing of Compton, but like the pickup of Jones and Witzmann better.

Thanks for posting this. I skimmed it a bit but did you see anywhere the stats were listed for all the players?

I am really impressed with O'Neil. Being a huge critic and being worried when he didn't beat out Hill it really is starting to look like Hill should be the backup swing tackle and O'Neil should start at RT. Also Bryan Witzmann is now with Bears. I thought he might be an upgrade from Compton.

If you want to believe the PFF grades...O'neill Grades out well. Regardless it seems he has done quite well for a guy that was supposed to be a project etc. I agree you wonder how much longer Hill will keep his starting job although I think he has been ok/decent/far from a disaster at RT which...isn't too bad all things considered.
It's interesting that when the Vikings have had a couple opportunities lately to add or keep olineman...they haven't. Still the same 8 guys.
