This has got to start putting a huge dent in the notion of the Warriors being the best team the league has ever seen talk and the idea of Curry being the best player on the planet right now.

Just my two cents these games shouldn't discredit the notion of steph being the mvp or best player in the world (still lebron). He has just been off what sucks but he still is 2nd best player in the world

I think KD is making a pretty strong case that he is the 2nd best player in the world right now. Id take him over Curry on my squad.

Others might think Westbrook is making a pretty strong case that KD is the 2nd best player on the Thunder.

Westbrook was the best player on the court last night and swung Game 2 with his play in the second half. Granted, Durant is still f-ing awesome, but the distinction between the two stars is no longer as clear-cut as it used to be:

Westbrook: 27.3 ppg / 6.5 reb / 11.8 ast / 3.8 stl (the main guy guarding Curry)
Durant: 28.5 ppg / 8.8 reb / 2.0 stl / 2 stl/2blk (also playing great D)

I'll just add that Durant is shutting down Draymond and was a rim protector last night which is a pretty big deal. Bottom line is that Durant and Westbrook are 2 of the 4-5 best players in the league right now which is pretty good. I think at this point the question I ask is how far back do you have to go back to find a combo as good as what this duo is showing right now?

Was thinking about that... you have Shaq and Kobe? And Jordan and Pippen?

Both of those teams won multiple titles in a row...

Yeah I think that's it.

They were borderline Top 5 for their first season together. After that, it's much more difficult to make that claim for Wade.

Wade made 2nd team All NBA and finished 7th in MVP voting in 2011.

I think Cam brings up a good one to consider. Looking back at the numbers he put up that 2011 season when they won their first I think you can make the argument of comparable duo that year. I am a big Wade fan and it's too easy to think of that guy that's a bit broken down/injured etc.
