One of those roster spots will likely go to Rocco (or Freeman?), but they don't have to make that commitment until well after Summer League. Assuming they fill the 14th spot with a vet minimum, they will not have enough room under the 2nd apron to add a 15th spot with a vet minimum until roughly 30 games into the season (where it will be prorated).

So, the only mystery is who fills that 14th spot with the vet minimum now? Well, as long as "there is a chance", I doubt TC fills that spot until after the LeBron decision is made, which may be awhile. I guess I can go back to bed...
I think you’ll be proven wrong, Tim. :) Our roster is at 12 now and I expect the Wolves will start the season with their usual 14-player roster. That means they’ll be adding two more players. They have room under the second apron to sign two free agents from outside the organization and have three FA options to accomplish that: (1) sign two vets at the 2+ year minimum; (2) sign one player at $5.8M using the taxpayer MLE and another player at the 2+ year vet minimum; or (3) sign one player at the full $6.061M taxpayer MLE and another player at the 1-year or rookie minimum. And of course, they can trade Josh Green with or without another player to fill one of the remaining two roster slots with money left over to fill the other using the vet minimum or a large portion of the taxpayer MLE. I don’t see the Wolves giving Rocco one these two roster spots because it’s so expedient to simply keep him on his two-way deal. They can always convert Rocco later in the season.

Do we think next offseason he will decline his player option and sign another 1+1 for 70 million with another player option the last year? So something like 33.5 year 1 and 36.5 year 2?

I feel like he is going to do something like this. And as the years go, we will slowly start dropping his minutes.

This year might be Rudy 32/Beringer 16 mpg
Next season Rudy 28/Beringer 20 mpg

This is what i would hope for barring some descent deal to move off Rudy if he opts in next summer.
Yeah I think something like this might happen and it might be with the Wolves or with what er team acquires him next off-season.
