Maybe Thibs is waiting on Pek's inkury exception in case he can move teh final year of his deal together with the 6th pick for someone?

I don't think we get any value from including Pek's salary in a draft-pick deal because we're already well under the cap and, therefore, able to absorb a substantial salary without giving up a matching salary. I could be wrong, but if I'm right then we have to hope the Wolves are in the process of clearing Pek's salary from the books based on injury retirement.

LIp is correct including Pek's salary doesn't have any value in a trade because the Wolves either season (this season they have cap room and next season it will be off the books so they can absorb that same salary). Plus the Wolves and Glen save more money if they keep Pek and have him medically retire because they have an insurance policy on his contract.
The more I think about it is they may be waiting to have the process go through for next finacial year because it saves them a bunch of money this season. Why? If it went through to take Pek's salary off the books this year it would take the Wolves down Pek's salary under the salary cap floor and then they would have to pay back that entire salary divided up to the players on the roster. So basically they would have to pay his salary twice. Maybe that's not the reason we haven't heard much of anything, but I think its a pretty worthwhile theory. As it is each Wolves player gets a few hundred thousand for the Wolves being under the salary floor. That's a decent bonus amount of money. I wonder how that works if you get it regardless of how long you have been on the roster or if guys that were on the roster for a while get some of it. It doesn't really matter much to me I am just curious. A guy like Casspi could have picked up a little chunk of money late in the season signing with the Wolves over another team.

Also if the wolves trade pek other teams can't get pek off their cap because of the medical exemption. A player has to be on a roster for a year and not play at all in that time and the nba still has to rule on the player that he can't play to have the medical exemption so teams are not trading for open cap space they would be trading for 14 mil of dead cap space

I've lost interest in Redick. Watching him the past 7 games in the Utah series reminded me why I've never been a huge Redick fan. I find myself interested in him when I look at his shooting stats. But when I watch him play on a regular basis, I see his limitations and can't stomach the thought of paying him at least $15 million per year, which is what the pundits are saying he'll command in the FA market. Find the best 3-point shooter in the D-League or sign Korver at $10 million per year. But don't pay $16-17 million per year for Redick.

Doesn't it seem like their is a lack of 2/3rd tier free agents this summer. Like I like Reddick but he is going to take up a lot of the cap room, I like noel, KCP and porter but they all probably get a max that I wouldn't pay.
I really like chandler and gallo but are they worth 20+ million, maybe but not sure.
We saw teams give average players big money last year and I don't think any of them have panned out.
I'm actually worried this offseason because I don't see the sweet spot free agent market just looking at the names.
I still say offer gorgui type numbers to the likes of Jamychal Green and/or joe ingles both could really help the team and if matched "caps" our competition.

Redick is a pure SG that can't play any other position. LaVine is a pure SG that can't play any other position. Wiggins is arguably better suited to play most of his minutes at SG. Lastly, Dunn can play SG due to his size and strength. So the last position I see us pursuing this offseason is a shooting guard.
We need veteran forwards!

At his age I thought he might take $10 million per year on a 4-year deal. If not, I'd offer $15 million for 2 years. That would line up with the upcoming max deal for KAT in 2019/20.
Redick will command at least $17 per year on a 4 year deal. I don't think Redick is worth it.

I generally agree with you, although I don't agree that SG is Wiggins' best position. Over time as he fills out his 6'9" frame, he's a SF -- especially giving his limited ball-handling and playmaking talents.
