Also Alex Meyer has a torn Labrum in his shoulder so he will he having surgery and probably will miss next season. He was having some success this year. Too bad.

Hopefully the twins can put a mini burial on the Angles this next series we have 2 with the Padres and they are playing the Astros.

What a power and offensive display by the Twins last night. Gibson cruised through 6 innings. Moya...man he gives me weird anxiety with all his movement before winding up and then the delivery its like he is a bundle of energy just trying to get the ball going. Lol

I watched the last inning of the Astros angels game like Jester said hopefully we can get some separation there.

I was lucky to be there last night...man, what an explosion! They set a ML record by hitting a home run in each of the first 7 innings...it's never happened before. I've also never seen a cycle before, and we knew it was in play when Dozier had a HR and triple before the 3rd inning was over. We left right over their pitcher hit Doz in the 7th to not give him a chance to double for the cycle (with a chorus of boos from the crowd), so I didn't get a chance to see Moya pitch.

The amazing thing was how many of the homers were opposite field...Doziers', Rosario's, and one of Castro's for starters. And Escobar's was a cannon shot to right! Gibson remained our most effective pitcher over the past 3 weeks and showed an unhittable slider I haven't seen before. Great way to start a home stand we all hope buries the Angels!

I love Eddie Rosario. I love this team. I love that I get to keep talking about them in September. The scary part is there in beginning stages of the rebuild it's only going to get better espically if our pitching turns out. I tell you what makes me smile is watching guys smiling and joking around club house, Big sexy telling jokes making everyone laugh, we finally have a culture again. Who knows maybe getting rid of Kintzler was the best thing that could happen because it brought these guys closer to each other.

Good point. I also wonder if Big Sexy helped this team in the club house and field.

I would guess he helps. I think dealing Kitzler could have took some pressure off. They weren't supposed to be good all year and then the Twins FO deal away a player they were "buyers" for and then sold a good and popular player in Kitzler because it looked like they were out of it. Credit to everyone that keeps playing well and it's not like everything has gone their way this year.

I haven't thought about this before, but this season almost has a Major League (the movie) vibe to it. Ownership gives up on the team and makes some moves to save money, and the team just says FU and starts winning...love it! Now 2 games up with 17 to play. And the maligned bullpen is doing quite well. The ERAs of the 3 pitchers who pitched before Belisle last night were 2.45, 3.27 and 1.78. And while Belisle is over 4, he has been a surprisingly effective closer. They no longer seem to be a big weakness.

I know the Twins Bullpen has been pretty solid lately but we can't let them off the hook. My buddy was telling me, The Twins when having a lead past the 6th have either gave up the tying run or the go ahead run in 24 ball games. The league average is around 14-16. Also when the Twins get a quality start they're 50-19 this year, this stat just shows how good our offense is.

I'd be curious what the breakdown of the stats for the pen in those situations are since around the AS break.

That was a fun game. Belisle added another number to what Jester was referring to in an earlier post but he has been so good it's bound to happen at some point.

Buxton man this guy has had a fantastic turnaround at the plate.
