Let's see....chance at a championship on a team that likes to pass the ball and chuck 3's AND have him a full max deal. Oh and the first few months of the season he will be the man with Curry. He was a RFA he chose his spot NOBODY would have guessed this a few hours ago.
The Warriors just aren't a championship caliber team without Klay. And now that they don't have Iggy either who's defending outside of Draymond? The Russell deal seems like a saving face move for KD leaving, but I just don't see the fit long term for them. Getting a young asset who can get a bunch of playing time this year locked into a long term deal is a good move to make for a trade chip for next year when they actually look to get back into contention.
I think you're making good points here. But Klay will play next year, and they can still be a contender with Steph, Dray, and now Russell. Remember, Steph, Dray and Klay have won by themselves before. But past next year, I agree things get murkier.
I haven't heard anywhere report Klay is gonna play next year. Everyone said when it came out he was basically done for a year which when that happens in the finals means you're out for the next year. And I don't think Steph, Russell and Draymond is good enough to contend. They just lost 3 of their 4 best defenders this summer and they got torched in the finals when they didn't have Klay and KD. I'd take a couple teams in the West over them at this point.
Ok but they are gonna be better (probably a lot better)?than the Wolves right?
Has that ever been hard for other franchises to say? I wouldn't want my team to be measured on their ability to be better than one of the worst franchises in your sport. We're gonna be bad again. What's new?

That is why you need to sign free agents and make your moves as soon as possible. Cam mentioned that he thinks rosas has dlo in his pocket and was just waiting for rosas to flick his dominoes. LOL!
Whatever the case, rosas strikes out and is on a bad start. The faster you make your moves, the better. Same with any business. You make the research and if you deem it worthwhile, You make deals as soon possible and lock it up. A deal may or may not be in place but that is just bullshit and fave saving. If it is in place then deal would have been done right away considering how agressive you have been!

Everything being reported has been the deal was done and Russell just picked them. It wasn't a matter of us not making the prerequisite deals for the cap space. You don't actually complete those deals until he's ready to sign the dotted line and in this case he balked. Imagine clearing cap space for a guy who doesn't actually commit to you. That'd be the real rookie mistake.

I'm as disappointed as the next guy that rosas didn't get Russell.
But we got to remember rosas was delt a massive uphill battle. I mean crabbe was traded away with 2 1st as an expiring 19 mil contract. And iggy was traded for a lightly protected 1st way in the future (the year KAT and Russell would have been off the books) as a 17 mil expiring.
It's sucks we didn't get Russell but in the end so far we have no additional bad contracts and we were in the running for a young all star player with the deck stacked against us.
Rosa's will be judged on his drafts and that's where thibs failed with Dunn, Patton and okogie

Have a good night guys. The sun still should come up tomorrow. It's just not going to be shining on our Wolves.

Dane Moore
@DaneMooreNBA
I think sliding through the cracks are the rules of sign-and-trades.
3 things have to happen:
-- $ needs to be mutually agreed upon
-- Compensation to trading team (BKN in this case) needs to be agreed
-- (MOST IMPORTANTLY) THE PLAYER HAS TO AGREE TO GO THERE
D'Lo chose GSW.
Cant fault rosas too much. Dlo wanted to go to gsw. He tried and didnt do anything too stupid.

Absolutely right, kekgeek. I was fine with this falling through and I'm even more forgiving after learning that it was Russell who made the decision, not the Wolves failure to make the requisite deals.
Again, I'll give Rosas credit for not doing anything dumb. And even though I disagreed with his draft decisions, I still can't say what he did was dumb -- just different from what I would have done. That's very different from drafting Dunn instead of Murray or Hield or Patton instead of John Collins or Anunoby. The worst thing Rosas could do is panic and make major moves because he feels he has to. A slower, more methodical approach will ultimately work better, provided that Rosas and his team really know what they're doing and show really good judgment. It's way too early to know what we have in Rosas. But at least we appear to have someone who doesn't panic or seek out the bold move at the expense of the smart one.
