McDermott, Gibson, Butler and a 1st rounder OR Wiggins, Bennett and two 1st rounders. I realize there's a potential superstar prospect involved, but Flip could get his cake and eat it too. Stay competitive while getting a pretty decent prospect.

On the other hand, I don't think Chicago's going to offer that plus Flip seems like a homerun hitter. Likely go with Wiggins package.

Cam, I've always preferred a Chicago deal that includes Gibson, Butler, and McDermott OR Mirotic (I highly doubt they would give us both). That yields two very good defenders on reasonable contracts and one offensive-oriented prospect to go along with our existing mix of solid vets and prospects. It doesn't abandon the future or the present. We have some eggs in each basket, and ultimately, most great teams are built with some mix of organically grown talent and acquired vets.

I honestly think the Bulls are set as they sit today. In fact, even if Cleveland acquires Love, I might still have to give the edge to Chicago. Adding Rose, Gasol, McDermott, and Mirotic to their existing roster of hard-nosed defenders gives them tremendous depth and versatility.

While no deal has been done yet, can we all agree that Flip has handled this perfectly? It's truly refreshing as a small-market franchise to see us make OTHER teams sweat/scramble for once.

I'd want McDermott over Mirotic, but I agree they likely wouldn't give both. Rubio-Martin-Butler-Gibson-Pekovic seems really balanced on paper as a starting lineup. It isn't as good offensively as last year's, but a tremendous upgrade on the defensive end. Bench could look like LaVine-Brewer-McDermott-???-Dieng.

I'm actually 50/50 on what I would want now between a CLE/CHI deal, mainly because I have faith in Flip's coaching ability plus two elite defenders thrown into the starting lineup.

I don't see the Chicago deal setting up the Wolves to be a contender at any point. It may be enough to get them into the playoffs where they will likely be dispatched early. Nobody knows if the Cavs prospects will mature into All Stars but I cannot help but believe its the only deal that offers the real possibility of the Wolves becoming a contender, though admittedly down the road.

I don't follow as closely as some on this board so maybe I'm wrong in my thoughts.

I'm just gonna say it... Mirotic is overrated as hell. Think a lot of people (not all) that say they want him in a package are only going off the hype he has instead of watching him as a prospect.

Well, the second Love said he wanted to be traded, we came out as the losers. So now it's just a matter of what kind of consolation prize we get. I'm disappointed that the Love era has come to an end, because I'm 90% positive that no one we get back in a trade will ever be as good as him, including Wiggins.

As far as Flip's handling of the situation, I guess this is what I would expect of a highly paid front office person to do. My God, Love is a consensus top 10 player and some would argue top 5. Hell yeah we should patiently wait until we're absolutely positive we are getting the best deal for him! We'll have to see how this thing ends up before we can give Flip a final grade.

I think it all depends on how you view Wiggins' upside. Some of us feel like he can be really good, but not a superstar, whereas others feel like he could be a franchise player. If you think he has a reasonable chance at being a franchise player, than yeah, you would naturally lean toward a Cleveland deal. But I feel like a Butler/Gibson/McDermott (or Mirotic) package gives you three players that could immediately be plugged into the rotation and be productive. Wiggins is still very young and I think Bennett is a train wreck.
