The Bucks are one win away from the NBA finals. Haven't been able to say that for a long time. Not since early in the Big Dog era. So I'm excited and looking forward to Saturday night. I would assume they rest Giannis again? But if they need to win a game 7 he's going to need to take a shot and get out there. And they will definitely need him if they advance.

Someone needs to say a little about Bobby Portis. He had 26 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and zero turnovers last night as a key contributor to the Buck's win without Giannis. Many of you might recall me wanting the Wolves to sign Portis as a free agent last summer and lamenting the fact that Rosas paid twice as much to sign Juancho instead. Signing Juancho for two years at $7M per year was worse than not signing Portis. But it's worse to know that Portis was gettable for far less. Would the Wolves have had to pay more than the Bucks for Portis? Probably. But it still would have been less than what Rosas is paying Juancho. And even at the same amount, Portis would have been a much better choice.

Yep I remember you being on top of this early Lip. Portis was very good this year. He's the type of guy you love when he's on your team and you hate when he's an opponent. And yes, he would have been a major improvement over Juancho.

Lip ended up being right about Portis. He has been even better than expected in terms of production. Has he played better defensively? Has he played more within himself offensively? He signed pretty cheaply although my guess is the price tag was a little lower because it was a contender. Still he may be an example of a guy that doesn't cost a lot being really helpful to a team even just as a rotation player.

Cool I'm guessing Mirotic probably didn't like having Portis on his team. Lol

Hard not to like these Bucks - seems like a bunch of nice guys. Brilliant move to get Tucker in to give them a bit of toughness and edge.

The Bucks have pretty much gone all in on this season. It looks like Jrue Holiday has had a pretty good series overall. Almost had a triple double tonight although he and Middleton combined for all but 1 of the Bucks TOs which seems a little unique.

Thanks Lip, it's been a long time coming. Lot's of big disappointments along the way. To me this version of the Bucks is such a frustrating team to watch. Even though they have made it to the finals, I agree with Barkley in that they play really dumb and probably aren't as good as they should be. I mean 10 turnovers between Jrue and Middleton in the first half? And Giannis desire to want to control things from out top is not their best strategy. However, I think the Suns are going to have a problem with Giannis and he could be the difference in the series.
