I think Harden suffered a concussion sometime in game 5 and the Rockets hid it from the league

Sure. I totally agree. But people were calling for Toronto to break it up AS THEY WERE adding pieces like Ibaka and Tucker. It's not like Memphis has just sat around and said "good enough, we're done here."

There are people out there who want playoff teams to purposely lose 60+ games just for the HOPE of landing a top draft pick just for the HOPE that the draft pick will become a superstar player in a few years.

I think Veron, made a great point on dirk they kept running in back with their star and even though he was good he wasn't a top 5 player in the league or at least not talked about in the same way he is today.

Then the right combo of players happened and they won a championship.

Now work the raptors what happens if lebron got hurt they have a great chance at the finals.

They took a chance added Ibaka and Tucker and now it didn't pan out so you can start a mini rebuild. But I think it would be dumb to do what O'Connor says and trade DeRozan

Well Harden was partying directly after the game last night so no concussion, I think something BAD happened after game 5 in the lockerroom some anger spilled over

I think I would support mediocre teams around 40 wins with pretty clearly no franchise type talent to blow it up it not a team like the Raptors especially since they have seemed to show ability to find and develop good players.

Souhan and Jon K were saying if the Twins had only one one championship in 1987 and went back to being terrible would they enjoy that more than the run they went on when they were winning the central every year for years. They would take the long run of success. I hadn't thought of that before but it's a pretty good point to be great.

I wonder what team in each sport has the best record without winning a title over the last 30-50 years.

I am curious to see if I think of them as a good franchise or not. Vikings have gotten close a few different times.

The Vikings have the 6th most playoff appearances in the Super Bowl era, I think you could make a strong argument that they are the most storied franchise in any major sport to never win it all

Well that settles it for me. I would rather be in the running and taking a shot at it from time to time than going all in to win it all. The NFL certainly makes it easier to reload.

I don't think the Raptors have the right mix. Two backcourt guys who need the ball. No great big or wing players on the rest of the team. It worked in the regular season because they had Lowry work with the bench a lot and they had some great bench numbers with him leading that group. The playoffs come around and both need to be on the court. Derozan can't stretch the floor. It just makes them easy to defend. An interesting trade to me would be to trade Derozan for Cousins. Give Lowry a big that can dominate and surround them with shooters. Give AD a great wing who can help with the scoring load. I think that trade balances and improves both teams. I think Washington will hit the same no pun intended wall with their two best players sharing the same backcourt. The same issue is on the Blazers as well. I think it only works at a contending level when both guys can shoot and at least one can be a high level defender. Portland is missing the defender and the Wizards and Raptors are missing the shooters.

Oh I don't disagree they should make some tweaks but O'Connor was like don't bring back Lowry, Ibaka or tucker and then trade DeRozan for picks. Pull a 76ers, I'm saying it would be dumb to blow up a consistent playoff team and a team that was 2 games away from the finals just in the hope they can get a top pick
