I was just thinking about the Bucks and to me I think at this point they are still overachieving this year. Why? Going into the season they are playing with arguably their best overall player in Middleton (Giannis has now passed him up) and they are still around .500 and he hasn't played yet. Parker and Giannis have really come along so that's been significant but Middleton is a really nice player.

It seems like Sacramento is reeling with the loss of Gay, so that's a good thing since they are one of the teams between us and the 8th seed.

Denver on the other hand.....dammit. They really handed it to the Clippers last night and didn't even have to play their starters a ton of minutes. Jokic is putting up ridiculous numbers without even playing big minutes. I would argue that on a pure skill-set basis, he's as good as KAT. But......defense. These guys are soft in the middle. I suspect KAT is going to go at Jokic early and often to see if we can get him in foul trouble.

I saw a few replays of that play. If I remember right it was after an easy dunk and then he just sort of went down in a heap. It looked like a hyper extension of the knee to me. Okafor isn't an iron man either. The guy is big and talented but I don't know who would give up something all that valueable to get him at this point which means the Sixers don't have a lot of reason to deal him espcially when who knows...depending on what happens with other guys they may end up needing him on their own roster.

I'd say cool's assessment of Embiid playing 2 full seasons at 40% probable may be taking a further dip.

So...apparently it turns out the best way to take care of Enes Kanter is to just use a chair. Instead of using of "Pulling the chair" on him just look like one and wait for him to punch you in the face and break his arm again. It is so obvious I don't know why nobody ever suggested it before.

Kanter is a big part of what OKC does. It will be interesting to see who steps up OKC. This could have them slip a little...maybe.

So...its sort of seems this Melo getting traded thing is maybe going to happen. Would anyone be interested in helping to facilitate a deal? Does anyone actually think someone is gonna bite?

LAC gets Melo
NY get Ricky/JJ/Wes Johnson and an LAC first round pick
MN gets Crawford, O' Quinn, Jennings

Crawford gives us the shooting and scoring punch we need coming off the bench next to Dunn and he's signed for 2 more years. O'Quinn is a very efficient big who likes to push people around. Jennings is an expiring hit or miss. He could be really good under Thibs or we could just let him walk in the off season. We'd have to cut a guy like Jordan Hill, but who cares. Makes me think Pek's injury retirement can't come soon enough.

I like that trade a lot. I'm not sure we would get both of Jennings and Crawford (who can play pg in a pinch). Either way, this would be outstanding. O'Quinn is underutilized and is the big body we need. Signed 2.5 more years at 3 mil per. Crawford is signed around 14 mil per for 2.5 years but the last year has only 3 mil guaranteed if cut by a certain date. Jennings expires this season at 5 mil per. So I think we would have to send Hill or Payne out as well (Payne please).

I actually like this for ricky as well. No, he isn't going to a contender but he would be going to a still decent (maybe better without melo) team.
Ricky feeding Porzingis, Redick, Lee, kuzminskis, and hernangomez could be fun to watch.

It may sound crazy but I don't think the Clippers would give up Redick to get Melo.
