How does that make us better though. Like Covington wouldn't be in the rotation and I like Kennard but he would come off the bench and even though I like Jmac I don't think he is a starting caliber player and Jmac is consistently hurt.
Yep. I heard that podcast... and thought the trade was pretty ridiculous. Kevin O'Connor poured some cold water on it during the podcast.
Kennard is a solid player, but he hasn't even proven himself as a sure-thing starter. And I don't see where Covington is making a huge impact. Whose role does he replace? Plus, there's a slight chance Towns returns, which would make Covington even more unnecessary.
I'm thinking more and more that the Wolves might be best to role with Russell's contract season hot streak and try to move him in a sign-and-trade this summer. They simply won't find a player who's better than what he's been for about two months now.
That's some good analysis on who the Wolves might trade for Bones, Cam. The only think I would add is Denver could be looking to go in a different direction than Bones, and would prefer to not have him on next year's guaranteed salary. A Forbes/Bones swap makes some sense, as Forbes was with Denver last year and was productive when called upon.

Yeah, I would be in favor of a Bones/Forbes swap. Two guys who have lost favor with their current coaches and need a change of scenery.

Do you guys mean Moore (and minor assets) for Bones?

I didn't hear the podcast, Abe, but I would have no problem with giving up either Moore or Forbes for Hyland.

Well, obviously. My point is that neither on their own is getting it done.
Moore with other assets has a chance. Maybe both Moore and Forbes for Hyland. And Denver still might want more.
I don't think Forbes has much if any value right now. Denver certainly isn't going to dump a super young guy who was in the rotation for a #1 seed shooting 38% on tough three pointers for a guy unable to crack an injury-depleted lineup for a much worse team.
Once again how does this make us better. Lowry is washed and Deadmon would not play and it old as shit and the wolves give up a 2nd.
Cool I know you hate Dlo but he is my far the best option the wolves currently have. Dlo is better than the current version of Conley, Lowry, Reggie Jackson, etc.
Miami and Los Angeles have reportedly shown interest in D'Angelo Russell. I believe Dallas probably did as well prior to trading for Kyrie Irving. However, there's another team that should be interested in D-Lo...
Minnesota.
Shocking development, but this team still lacks shot creators and perimeter shooters. I've talked about it since last summer. Much like the teams rumored to want him via trade, the Timberwolves need what he brings to the game. And while I still think they're underutilizing him in the pick-and-roll and as a team, Chris Finch has finally optimized more of his game as an on-ball and off-ball guard sharing those duties. I don't see how they could trade him at this point in time. Rather, they need to be even more urgent in working out an extension. The Timberwolves' backcourt is a very real strength now and moving forward.

Don't kill the messenger dude. I'm just sharing what's out there.
