Some good points, Drew. Further, this is not an NBA issue...this is a general corporate issue. I know companies at which dipping your pen in the company inkwell would be grounds for instance dismissal...not just a suspension. Morality is not the issue here...it's more about maintaining a cohesive comfortable workplace.

Code of conduct. The coach is an extension of the organization. He must act in a manner that will not reflect poorly or bring negative attention upon it. More and more we live times where allegations of sexual misconduct are made. Putting policies in place to discourage relationships of a sexual nature in the work place is in the interest of self preservation.

It's worth noting here because it's an interesting tidbit, but apparently Phoenix was very much interested in acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic from Utah prior to the trade that sent him to Detroit. However, their insistence on getting Jarred Vanderbilt in the deal, as well as their lack of attractive draft capital they were willing to part with, led to Utah rejecting their offers. Apparently, they value Vanderbilt highly, and perhaps they should given his youth and contributions to Minnesota last year. He's a nice piece. I'm glad the Jazz are choosing to hold on to him. Not just because I hope for good things for Vando, but because I would hate to see him play for a contender that the Timberwolves will likely have to go through.

Regarding Celtics coach, I feel like the message around inter work relationships has been pretty clear since the late 80's.

Suspending a coach has a real impact in games and practices whereas suspending a GM is meaningless as there's no reasonable way to monitor their influence over the organization during the suspension. Plus I think Rosas rubbed people the wrong way

It's a little weird but also seems more of a mutual thing than him demanding to be traded. He has a lower salary than the Jazz vets they have moved and guys they are willing to move. He can help a team and I'm guessing he wasn't too interested in joining the Jazz if he had been dealt there. Idk what salary they would send back but who is the Heat's PF right now?

Tyler Herro just got a four-year, $130-million extension with the Miami Heat. Wow, good for him. Guy is a stud.

That seems a little rich to me. I can see a world where Nowell gives you (almost) equivalent production this season.

This deal surprised me too, Q. Just a couple months ago when Herro said he wanted to start this season, Pat Riley said "If you want to be a starter in this league, you need to be a 2-way player". Kind of harsh. Herro is an exciting offensive player and I think may even get better, but he is constantly targeted on defense and if you watch the Heat, you can see why. I suspect that Riley made this public comment to fire Herro up and convince him he needs to improve on the defensive side of the ball, and perhaps he sees some defensive potential there. But if I were a Heat fan, I wouldn't be very happy about $32.5 million invested in a 1-way player.

I think the value of Herro's contract has a lot to do with the expected huge increase in the salary cap.
