- I'm not necessarily a fan of the Dubs although I am a fan of both Steph and Durant. But my disdain is so great for Popovich that i find myself very happy with this comeback win. Pop now joins the list of coaches whose team blew a 25 point lead in a playoff game.
- Too bad for my guy Kawhi though. His injury will probably eliminate any chance this series goes beyond 5. I'm predicting he wins the MVP next year.
- Is Doris Burke really the best talent on the planet for doing her job? Of course not. I'm tired of being force fed her on NBA telecasts.
I'm on board with point 2, but I love Pop and for some reason also enjoy Burke...don't know why.
But Leonard certainly increased his growing legendary status tonight. When a very good team dominating a game goes 0-18 after their best player goes to the locker room, it tells you a lot about that player. Leonard has become my favorite player in the league, and I hope he has a miraculous recovery...otherwise I'll continue ignoring the playoffs until we get to the inevitable finals.

I love Pop and the Spurs. Great coach and great organization. They lost a 25 point lead tonigh because they lost their best and only star player in the 2nd half after losing their starting PG in the prior series and they were playing on the road against a team with 4 allstars. I used to like the Warriors before Durant shamelessly and cowardly signed with the Warriors. I now detest the team, mainly because I detest Durant. The next best thing to the Wolves eventually winning a title would be the Warriors never winning another title so long as Durant is on their team.

But Cool -- I agree with you completely on you other two points. I especially agree with you on Doris. I absolutely can't stand listening to her drone on and on and on... There are so many more talented basketball analysts who should be sitting in her seat.

I hate the NBA right now. First of all the playoffs have been boring for almost every game besides 4ish games.
Now we have the least diva athlete in the kawhi looking like they could take a game from the Warriors and I was pumped don't doubt Pop ever and I was excited but now kawhi is hurt and I would guess another sweep is coming.
Now everyone is like the NBA finals will be worth this bad playoffs. But I don't think so for me (dosen't mean I won't watch every game). I hate the Warriors now since Durant joined because it took the joy of competition away from the playoffs and I hate predictability and super teams do that. (Durant had every right to do what he did dosen't mean I can't hate it). Also I hate lebron (I respect his greatness) don't know why probably because of the media shoving him down our throats. But I have always and will always root against him. So I won't have a rooting interest in the games what kind of sucks. Looks like I might have to put money down just to give me the adrenaline rush

I'm right with you, kek...feeling way down on the NBA right now. Before yesterday I had probably watched less than an hour of the playoffs (I have been checking this thread for some insights about certain players). I got sucked in yesterday with Kawhi and the Spurs on the verge of making this an interesting series, but that prospect got stolen when Leonard limped to the locker room. Now we may not see Cleveland or GS lose a game before meeting in the finals...again. And while I cheered for the Warriors last year, Durant's gutless move gives me nobody to cheer for this year. I'm an NBA fan, but I may not watch any of the finals this year. Oh well...at least the weather is nice.

I am pulling for the Spurs, but injuries are killing them. I have not watched a minute of basketball as a diehard for last 15+ years they lost me. I spent more time on the Twins and Vikings draft then NBA this year. The league has become way to predictable.

Oh, Oh...Cool's not going to like this clip of Pop talking about the president. While I tend to agree with Pop here, I'm mixed on the appropriateness of a coach spending so much time on politics after a playoff loss. Seems a little odd, but Pop's gonna be Pop.
By the way, did anyone know he was an intelligence officer in Eastern Europe for five years after graduating from college?

I'm with Cool on this one. I think the thing that bugs me about it is that there is absolutely nothing novel about what he is saying. The vast majority of the media, all of Hollywood (e.g. the late night shows), and most major news organizations' editorial sections are doing a fine job pillorying Donald Trump.
If he is going to venture outside the world of basketball, perhaps he should use his considerable reputation to point out injustices or needs that aren't getting the attention they deserve. Raking Donald Trump over the coals is almost passe at this point, and frankly, beneath someone that has built such an enduring organization and legacy.
One other thing and then I'm done......The vast majority of the people that voted for Trump - and I was not one of them - knew full well about his flaws. They wanted to throw the proverbial brick through the window to send a message to Washington. The sooner establishment types on both sides of the aisle come to terms with this, the easier it will be for them to accept the results and figure out what changes need to be made moving forward.
OK, back to debates on the merits of standing reach vs. wingspan!

I'm not saying this to be divisive completely the opposite...these different takes on doris Burke are just an example of how people can feel so differently about the same thing. It's ok to thing different stuff than someone else...sometimes...at least i think so. Lol

I found this pretty funny. Monday humor.

Pop and Phil Jackson are odd dudes, but they got a lot of their teams. I am always more impressed what they get out of second units or group of role players. I would be curious what Pop would be able to get out of our team. He just seems to have the magic touch.
