Re: Best Potential Love Trades
I don't get why a 3rd team is jumping in a Love deal. They're not going to get the young players in the deal and they're not getting Love. Who is Cleveland going to get that would be willing to give up picks or young talent to offload one of our role players? All Cleveland's best pieces would be coming back to us, so I just don't get how a 3rd team gets in this deal. I don't get what pieces could go to that 3rd team to make a deal worthwhile to them.

I would counter the Cavs with Love/Rubio for Irving/Wiggins.

Then I'd trade Pekovic and Martin for Durant.
Re: Best Potential Love Trades
The third team notion makes no sense. Either the Cavs are willing to give up Wiggens for Love or they're not. That's true whether it's a two-way or three-way deal. If we take the Cavs at their word, then they won't give up Wiggins for Love, period. A three-way deal would only make sense if Flip wanted a veteran rather than Wiggins as part of the deal.

Chicago suddenly has a lot of extra PF's.

Taking the best shit offer doesn't mean that's what a player's value is. It's what you sold him for. I'd rather try to win with Love and if he leaves then so be it. Giving him away for an unacceptable deal, like that one is, shows how incompetent of a franchise we are.
Agreed. If the best deal isn't really going to help the team I'd rather keep him, see what happens and if he walks for nothing next summer so be it. At that point I'd rather set a precedence of not giving in to a star wanting out and not helping any team get him.
Teams with stars wanting out need to start playing hard ball. These teams that want Love and have no real shot of signing him outright next summer need to offer a somewhat fair deal or they can shove it and watch some other team get him making their life even harder.

- Pre-season: Wiggins + Bennett + Waiters + 2015 MIA (SAC would be ideal) 1st round pick FOR Love.
- Trade deadline: Randle + Lin (expiring) + Nash (expiring) + Hill + 2015 HOU 1st + 2019 LAL 1st + 2016 2nd + 2017 2nd FOR Love + Budinger + Martin.

So Mike Miller and James Jones signed with the Cavs today (or yesterday, whatever). Miller also turned down more money in Denver to do so. Think he does it if he's not sold on the idea of Cleveland winning a championship next year, or at least having a team capable of doing so? This has 'trade for Love' all over it, but in the form of a precursor. Would these vets sign in Cleveland with the idea that four unproven young guys were going to help carry them to the Finals? Come on now.

These signings would seem to limit the amount of minutes Wiggins and Waiters can get anyway. I agree, it's starting to look more and more like this is destined to happen.

Sure would be nice to get this over with. I either want to hear that he's open to resigning if the team does well or I'm ready to see him get traded for a solid package of younger players/picks.
