I'll comment about Ellenson...it's early he could still be a worthwhile player but there is only so many spots for guys that can only guard centers in this league. I liked him and I'll admit now I am pretty glad we didn't end up with him. That realGM podcast that was posted a while ago the guys said the dude can't play. I don't know if those guys really know but Ouch.

Ford is just making assumptions like so many other people do either media types or even their sources. They need a PF. They need shooting. Hey here is a guy that does both. Who cares what else that guy does or can't do... lol david Aldridge is doing his breakdown of players at each position based on what he hears from people he trusts. I trust what Aldridge hears and reports. PF wasn't a super great position although his angle was a bit different than a typical who is gina be the best player thing it didn't look rosey at that position. Do people think Zach Collins can guard PFs in the NBA?

Here is an article with a headline of how the Thunder aren't built for the modern NBA, but the relevant point is the dearth of 3&D talent and how the Thunder has no one that can both defend and hit threes. It also has a table of where most of today's 3&D players were drafted. Hint: Not in the lottery!

The Thunder were built fine for the NBA until the 2nd best player in the league left their team. Durant would have been a nice 3 and D guy for them this year. Kind of a weird article to write in my opinion when everyone knew this was a transition year for this team.

I agree, Doper. With Durant last season the Thunder came close to making the NBA finals. So clearly they were built for the modern NBA. Hell, they were one of the best teams in the NBA last season. And even without Durant, they ended up with a better than .500 record and a playoff birth.

I'd also challenge the inclusion of some of the players on the list. I don't consider 33-34% thre-point shooters like Aminu, Sefolosha, Ariza and Carroll. Miami has Luke Babbit, who's on the list, but didn't make the playoffs.

I do agree that 3D guys and excellent defenders who can hit some threes like Sefolosha can be found outside the NBA lottery. So can good rebounders, shot-blockers and other types of valuable contributors. The Wolves problem is that they rarely get any playes worth mentioning outside the lottery and often miss on lottery picks as well (e.g., Wes Johnson).

Did they give OKC for rebuilding onnthe fly and how next year they will basically have a roster of Russ and guys that are 25 years and younger? That team played 3 rookies legit rotation minutes.

Side note if OKC wanted to save some money and were willing to pay us something taking on Kyle Singler would be a little interesting. We need another final four most outstanding player we only have one. But seriously the guy is a vet player who is a bigger SF and can shoot 3's and doesn't cost a ton of money at around 5 million a year.

If Thibs really wants to address the 3pt shooting this offseason then drafting Markkanen is hands down the best college scorer and PF addition I feel we can get. I may be partial to my Arizona Wildcats...but no player in college has this level of size, skill, shooting, range and work ethic at now 20 yrs old and 7'1''

I think he'd be an absolutely awful pick. He lacks toughness, quickness, and mobility. He was a mediocre rebounder and terrible shot blocker for someone at his size playing in college. I see him as being a taller version of Mirza Teletovic. I agree he can shoot, but that is about all he can do.

If Markannen can't play defense well, I don't want to go near him. Jackson, Isaac and Tatum can hit 3s and also play defense and rebound. I looked at the top 30 NBA players in shooting percentage and 80% were either available in the second round or free agency. I want a very good two way player not a really good college three point shooter because we will be in position to draft a very good two way player.

I like the work ethic angle. What did you notice about him that showed this? I didn't really watch any Markkenen so I am curious what you saw as you sound like you got a good inside view. You're making me want to go check out some footage.
