WOLVES get Wiggins (after Cavs sign him), Bennett, Thompson and Waiters along with the 3 nonguaranteed contracts the Cavs just traded for. -- About $23.7 million.
CAVS get Love, Martin and Brewer -- About $27.2 million.
Salaries match. Cleveland clearly becomes a win-now team. MN gets lots of young pieces to build around and nets about $7 million in cap savings this year. Wolves use the additional $7 million to buy out Shved and Moute to clear the two roster spots needed to incorporate the players from Cleveland and sign GRIII.
Wolves starting five: Rubio, Waiters, Budinger, Thompson and Pekovic.
Wolves rotation bench guys: JJ, LaVine, Wiggins, Bennett, Dieng
Wolves will take this deal in a heartbeat but the cavs might not. 1 thing that the cavs are looking at is adding a rotation big. Varejao aint reliable health wise and haywood may be done as a player. If they give us both TT and bennet then they are going to be short on bigs.
Thats why I think they may look to hold onto TT. As hockey mentioned. TT and love could play together in the frontcourt. Varejao could start but TT can log 25-28min easily as the main backup big.
The only vet center that the cavs could sign is okafor but they only have the minimum. If they are all in in competing for the title they need another rotation big in there. Hence why they may prefer to keep TT and go with him and love on occasions.
More realistic trade would be wiggins(signed), bennet, waiters and the non guaranteed contracts and a 1st for love + brew/bud/jj or a combo of shved and turiaf.
World -- I agree what you have suggested is more realistic.

I think it'll be Wiggins, Waiters and Bennett with a first rounder (along with Lucas, Thomas, Murphy) coming to Minnesota for Love and Brewer. That makes the most sense for both teams. Hopefully Flip could then turn Bennett into a starting caliber PF via trade with the ideal target being Thad Young. That team would be perfectly set up to be a run and gun type team. Could probably win 30-35 games next year.
That would be a very nice outcome for the Wolves, Cam.

hmmm... If the Cavs could acquire another 200k with those expirings...
Love/Martin/Brewer/2nd to the Cavs (27.2m)
Wiggins/Young/Bennett/expiring filler/1sts to the Wolves (24.7m)
Waiters/Shved/LRMAM to Sixers (11.7m)
Otherwise Brewer could always go to the Sixers. Them taking Martin would probably require a pick going their way which I'd rather have that pick coming here. Hmm.. Taking Young doesn't allow the Wolves to really shed that much salary.

Here's a nice breakdown on Thad Young.

Nice find mike. Young will fit perfectly in flips offense and would be a great target for rubio on the court. Only problem is he is only 6'7. Undersize for a pf but if we are running an up tempo style offense then he is very good as a small ball pf.

If Flip can turn Love into Wiggins, Young, and Waiters. I would be impressed and super excited for next year.

I too hope the Bulls deal is just noise. Don't want Butler/Gibson duo, that doesn't make us contenders. Adding McDermott moves the needle, but still would rather gamble on Wiggins/Bennett

I keep reading that the Nuggets are still in the hunt for Love.
"The Nuggets also remain in play for Love, according to Wojnarowski, and their package is Minnesota's favorite outside of Cleveland's and Golden State's, if the Warriors were to relent and offer Klay Thompson. Denver reportedly offered multiple packages in June, but it's unclear what the Nuggets have on the table now. The Wolves are insisting that teams take on J.J. Barea as part of any Love trade, and possibly Kevin Martin, too, Wojnarowski adds."

I'm rather skeptical on this as Love has said he wouldn't re-sign there, but if they are still in the running, would a Faried, Afflalo, Chandler (or Gary Harris) deal have any appeal (with Love and pieces going back?).
