Nobody is suggesting that it's impossible. Or shouldn't be tried more often.

Only that it's more difficult. You need to do multiple things to get the ball to your best player in the post... vs. just handing the ball to your best player 93 feet from the basket.

And with all the handchecking and pushing and shoving allowed in the post... vs. your best player going downhill out in the open court where less pushing and shoving is allowed...

One is simply easier than the other...

Agree, ideally we'd have a Giannis or Doncic or Lillard to build around, but we don't. We have KAT. Denver has Jokic. Philly has Embiid. It can be done.

Also, KAT is proving to be pretty effective getting the ball at the mid-post right block too and facing up. It doesn't all have to be grinding out positioning within 8 feet of the rim.

The DSJ idea is tempting because he at least shows the potential for being a dynamic perimeter scorer/playmaker, whereas we don't have anyone like that now and we eventually need one that is a clear #2 to KAT.

Q I hope we have a better example of a big being a stud than Denver winning against a floundering Memphis team and scoring less than 100 points...with Kyle Anderson looking like he forgot how to shoot a basketball during a late possession. Lol We need talent. Imagine if Denver had gotten something more compelling for Nurkic from the Blazers. If Michael Porter Jr is able to be healthy AND is actually good well...um...yikes.

I'll say this I was wrong about the Nuggets. They are much better than what I thought they would be. I was right in how I thought they would be better though. It's really their young guys being good it's not them getting better in the offseason that some pundits seemed to suggest. Nobody new to their roster this season has even played 50 total minutes. Millsap has missed a handful of games but also is playing fewer minutes. Juancho H. looks like he has been a pretty valuable player for them. T. Craig has started 37 games and Barton has only played 10 total games. I thought Mike Malone was probably a good coach but the early returns didn't seem to favorable. Things are looking great in Denver now all around.
