Olynk got himself paid tonight. Just out of curiosity what would you pay for him. I can't see the Celtics matching because they win try and add a max player and smart, Thomas and bradley all free agents next year and crowder the year after that

Boston closing it out now.

Plus, they're about to get a top pick from the Nets tomorrow. AND they have the Nets first rounder next year. Man, Brooklyn got so fleeced in that deal and Boston is definitely on the rise.

Oh ya they got fleeced but I don't blame then for doing it

Hopefully, Boston getting into the conference finals (and hopefully coming up short) will motivate them that the future is now and trade for Butler.

He is a decent player that can do a few things decently. Jon Leuer got a 4 year contract worth around 10 million per last summer. I would imagine Olynyk would be in that same ballpark maybe higher since he has done more at this point than Leuer had last summer although Leuer I think is a better athlete. Olynyk can shoot 3's but I don't see him as a PF really. I'm not sure I am prepared to pay him money to be another PF/C when we already have 2 of those in Dieng and Towns. If you don't offer him enough money the Celtics may just match him.

Notice how Pop had no problem talking to the media today when he could exploit them for his own agenda? In case you didn't see it, he went off about the play Zaza made where Leonard got hurt. Called him a dirty player and said he's been one throughout his career. Uh..........excuse me Pop, didn't you have a couple guys named Horry and Bowen who were known for this type of play?

A few observations after catching Game 7 of Boston-Washington:

- Al Horford is just huge for the Celtics. He's like the East's version of Draymond Green in that he can play both big and small on both ends of the floor and the C's run a lot of sets through him as the facilitator. He would have been fantastic in a Timberwolves uniform.

- John Wall has always had a shaky jump shot. It really bit him in the ass late in this game. The book on him will always be to play him for the drive.

- Washington desperately needs to shore up their bench. Oubre, Smith, Jennings, Mahimni....just not good enough.

- But even Washington's starting lineup needs to get better defensively. The bigs had so many blown coverages and their guards are pretty weak getting around screens.

- One thing the teams left standing have in common is that they aren't exclusively reliant on a pick and roll offense with a ball dominant point guard. They have bigs they can throw the ball to who can facilitate and find open guys off cuts, handoffs, high-low action, etc. (Green, Horford, Gasol, Love, LeBron when he plays PF). It's a nice safety valve when opposing guards are putting a ton of ball pressure on the backcourt. The Wall-Harden-Westbrook type offenses could all use a good passing big man.

I had a dream last night Popovich was baby sitting my friend's kids so they could have a night out. It was kind of funny.

By the way....Marcus Smart played a lot of small forward last night. I really believe Kris Dunn can be our perimeter defensive bulldog off the bench in any number of player combinations because he can probably guard 1-3s.

I had similar thoughts Smart was big in that game.

I thought Jalen Brown was very solid in his minutes. He made some big hustle plays that were key.

I just looked at the Celtics draft pick situation again. It's crazy the amount of picks they have over the next few years. You can make a case they should cash in some of those assests for a star but if they think this top pick this year could be a star why not keep him and keep building? They are in both a tricky and great spot to be in. Of course they can also just sign a very good player and they got Horford last year and they are a pretty good team that's also built to make going there attractive. Maybe the Wolves can get one of their many 2nd rounders for cash this year. Or maybe with the expanded rosters the Celtics just pick a bunch of guys and see which ones rise to the top.
