Vikings are signing DT Dalvin Tomlinson (who sounds more like a REALLY good RB) which means Stephen is gone (maybe he stays and takes a pay cut ) and good luck running on the Vikings next season. They also signed LB Nick Vigil to a relatively cheap contract. He sounds like a solid player something in between a Eric Wilson and Ben Gedeon. This offseason is going pretty well except everything with Hunter...well and the Oline. Lol

Love the Dalvin Tomlinson signing. I see him as a true 3 down player. He can play both DT positions for us. I am ready for this team to move on from Shamar Stephen and Jaleel Johnson. Both can be solid backups, but I would like to see a true DT rotation with a younger guy like James Lynch or someone we drafted stepping up.

I am not as excited about Harris as I think he turns 30, but wouldn't mind him being back. I just would let the market play out. I think there are some guys in the draft that could be had in the 3rd or 4th round that could be starters next year for us. Otherwise we can always bring back Sendejo as a bridge type.

I think Shamar is a guy that can be a solid player on the line where he just has to do his job especially when there are higher level guys around him. Last year he might have been one of the best players on that D-line...that's BAD.

I believe Sendejo struggled last year for the Browns. I wouldn't be against him as a cheap option but I also think the Vikings may have been onto something when they played him in the slot when they brought him back. My guess is if they bring back Harris he won't get paid a ton. Zimmer has raked about safeties aren't that important. Lol honestly my guess is Harris gets a 2 year deal if he resigns.

Shamar released.

I agree with your take on him in general. I want us to draft a DT this year with one of our 3rds.

This draft seems pretty deep at safety. It might be worth rolling the dice on one as a starter.

Idk how good he still is but adding a likely legit vet CB likely helps the D.

Apparently Thielen is restructuring to give them some space and they are working on an extension with Harrison Smith which will give them some space too. Are they going to just spend money on defense or will they spend something on that oline? Can they get Hunter on board? What will they do at the other safety spot?

In other news Trent Williams got a massive deal and 20 million a year which I kinda thought he would get there.

Mike Boone to Denver for over 2 million. I figured he would be gone if there was a reasonably good opportunity out there for him.

Odenigbo to the Giants for over 2 million. Not sure which player I would rather have Odenigbo or weatherly. Weatherly might be the only DE with those LB skills to use as a guy to drop back in coverage at times so that may help his case for versatility.

Beebe back for the vet min.

Rashod Hill back for a contract over 2 million but will pay him the vet min. Pretty nice signing for a guy that's not a disaster at either tackle spot.

My question is - Can Peterson play FS? I just don't see him having it anymore as stub CB.

EDIT - Found this. It looks like he might and could be a good ball hawk there.

I very highly doubt they signed him to play Safety.

It's only a million or so difference but this contract does sound better.

They also did a June 1 designation of Rudy's contract so they are loading up on this year's cap space.

Details on Patrick Peterson's deal with the #Vikings, per source:

$8 million base salary
Up to $1 million in playing time incentives (maxing out at 95% PT; Peterson played 98.83% last year)
$1 million All-Pro incentive

Anthony Harris to the Eagles for 1 year 5 million. I would have been happy to have him back for that.

Reiff signed with the bengals for 1 year 7.5 million to play RT. It's been quite a while but I remember that didn't go particularly well for the Lions.
