Fun fact I heard from gleeman and geek. Colome and Cruz are really good friends. Cruz also told Colome that he can use his personally chef while playing here. Supposedly Cruz chef makes the best ribs ever.
Also I learned what mutual option is. This year contract is 5 mil. Next year contract is also 5 mil.
If the twins decline the option they owe 1.25 mil to Colome.
If Colome declines then he does not get the 1.25 mil buyout.
So basically they got a former all star closer for 1 year 5 mil.

And if he does come back for that 5.5 million it's a likely a great deal.
As something to compare in terms of reliever contracts my brother brought up the Addison Reed deal. Who would have thought that was going to go so poorly? From what I can find he hasn't pitched since the Twins moved on. He turned 32 in December I was thinking he was older than that he wasn't even 30 when the Twins signed him. I just looked it up he had just turned 29. That deal didn't work out at all but it seemed like a pretty solid move at the time. That was around the time when relievers were starting to really get big money.

The Twins have traded outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. to the Giants for right-hander Shaun Anderson, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
I don't know about you guys, but I think this is a smart trade for Minnesota. I didn't see LaMonte Wade having a future with the Twins even as a fourth outfielder and he only has one option left to play with. With Shaun Anderson, Minnesota's getting a former third-rounder with good numbers at the minor league levels and a live arm averaging 95 miles per hour on his fastball last year. He also threw his slider 53-percent of the time. The Twins can figure out whether he's best utilized as a starter or reliever. But I think there's some real ability for Wes Johnson to work with here.

My guess is that slider percent goes up to 75%. Probably same model they used with wisler last year. I agree with you Cam wade is very expendable there's no future place in our line up for him. Honestly he's been ready to get a chance for 2 years now.

I like Wade but yeah there were always guys in front of him and that was going to continue. FWIW Anderson has pitched in more games than Wade has played in. This looks like a solid swap for both teams.
As an added Twins connection Anderson came to the Giants when they dealt Nunez to the Red Sox.

It's hard to get excited about a guy with a 1.5 WHIP in the majors and a 3.83 ERA in the minors, but I agree that Wade didn't have a future here, so why not take a chance on a live arm.

He was basically a starter in the minors and is now a reliever so that adds to the hope I suppose. He also has another year (2) of minor league options compared to Wade (1) so that's nice if he seems worth keeping around on the 40 man roster.

So you don't like Tyler Duffey then. That's basically what his stats were as a starter for the twins. This guy has same exact profile as Duffey. Struggling starter with a plus breaking ball and throw mid 90s.
What did Twins do? Told Duffey ditch all your secondary pitches but your curve and Wes got him throwing 3 mph harder. I wouldn't be surprise if this guy ends up hitting 97 on the gun and throws nothing but sliders next year.
Also this man has sick hair flow.

Great points, jester...about both Duffey and the hair flow

One highlight video on Twitter Anderson hit 96 and 97 on fastballs strikeouts. I think he is already ahead of Duffy in terms of velocity. Duffy took a while to be more consistent but it looks like the Twins were right about him.
He had trouble with walks last year but that wasn't a major problem before.
