Wolfson reports that he really things Darvish is down to Cubs Twins Astro's and maybe one other team. He also thinks that the Cubs Darvish interest is more about trying to leverage to sign Cobb. I don't have my hopes up on Darvish but I won't be completely shocked if he signs with the Twins either.
Multiple reports and also I heard from friends I have there that Darvish wants 6 years and all these teams want to give him a 5 year deal. Basically whoever cracks first will most likely get him. I've also heard the Dark Horse that no one is talking about is Seattle after losing in the Ohantini sweepstakes.
Interesting stuff. Length of deals being the thing makes sense. I think Seattle was the team Wolfson said was the other team to look out for but I don't remember for sure.

We signed Zach Duke. No word on the contract details it looks like he missed plenty of bats before having Tommy John surgery.

The Twins added another reliever getting Addison Reed for a 2 year deal reportedly just under 17 million total. Sounds pretty good to me

Very good signing. Supposedly he had a couple three year deals on the table but his wife is from Illinois and has family in Minnesota so he chose Minny. I think it's amazing how we don't bring up spouses and kids more often when it comes to Free agency, I remember when I moved to Texas the reason why my Wife was okay with it was cause we had family down there and I probably wouldn't have gone if she didn't give the blessing.
But back to Reed very solid insurance option for Rodney if Rodney struggles.
Also I found out today that the reason why Rodney wears his hat crooked is because his dad was a fisherman and wore his hat that way. Rodney Dad past away a week before his MLB debut so he does it as a tribute. That makes it a little tolerable for me being one of their crudmugan purists of the game lol.

I agree I think with baseball the family thing can be an even bigger deal than some of the other sports because the season is so long and guys have a game basically every day. These guys play what at least 200 games a year or more between spring trains and playoffs and possibly some other offseason?
Rodney is a guy I always kinda liked although i think the arrow celebration isn't gonna be one I enjoy a lot but whatever if he is doing it all the time I'll be plenty ok with it. Lol It was interesting to hear his story about the way he wears his hat.

The Twins have acquired right-hander Jake Odorizzi from the Rays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Twins trade Shortstop prospect Jermaine Palacios who Ranks 27th in our farm system. He has a 290/.345/.426 slash line over 1303 pro plate appearances. From all accounts I've heard is that he will not stick at shortstop but will end up at 2nd or 3rd.
Good trade for the boys Odorizzi isn't perfect but we need someone to plug in till Santana gets back. I've also heard the Rays asking price for Archer is Kepler, Royce Lewis and Gonsalves, which is way to high of a price, the twins want to do replace Lewis with Gordon in the trade.
We essentially traded out 5th best SS in the organization for a #3 starter I'll do that deal 100/100 times

That doesn't surprise me that the Rays are asking a crazy return for Archer. As long as he is healthy and pitching reasonably well he is gonna have value for a while. I heard this week that the Twins value Kepler and don't really want to deal him and that's the guy Tampa Bay really likes so That was probably a problem to start there. Not that it keeps a deal from going through or anything but they are having a Kepler bobble head night.
Getting a decent youngish starter for a middle infielder sounds pretty good. Wait this is the Twins when did we become a team with so much middle infield depth teams wanted guys we have? It's nice. It looks like they have another year of arbitration on Jake O is that right?
