Reddish fits into the wolves trade exemption they got in the Prince Rubio trade last year. So any interest in Reddish?
Short answer is no. Cam Reddish wouldn't deserve minutes in Minnesota either. With limited roster spots available, they should be looking elsewhere for talent that can help the team win now.
I agree just another name to throw out there
Pace yourself. There's 450 names to throw out there.
John Collins was the guy I wanted the Wolves to draft when they drafted Justin Patton instead. And he's proven me right by putting up terrific numbers since coming got the NBA. Yet, I don't want the Wolves to pursue him. There must be issues with Collins we don't know about. The Hawks have been shopping him for several years now, in spite of numbers that suggest he should be a guy they build around. Something seems strange here and I'd look elsewhere for Wolves trade targets.
Issues worse than Beasley?
Yes. Beasley acted like an idiot in the moment and paid the price for it. There's never been anything about him being a bad teammate, not working hard or not being coachable. I have no idea what if any issues there are with John Collins. He was once suspended for violating the League's drug policy. But whatever his issues, they could certainly be a lot more problematic than Beasley's one incident.
It also could just be that him and Trey dont get along. Who knows? They gave him the contract and they still havent dealt him which means they still value him. I still think he's an ideal 4 next to Kat. I really dislike our whole strategy being to make Kat a 4 and target guys bigger and slower than KAT. Just get a real 4.
Two things Doper....A "real" 4 in the way you describe it is a highly coveted player. They ain't easy to find! Collins would not come cheap nor do we even know if he truly is available. Big Centers on the other hand are much more attainable these days.
Second, playing KAT at the 4 is never going to be a full-game strategy. I can almost guarantee that he will always play at least 60-70% of his minutes at the 5 for the rest of his Timberwolves career, especially in crunch time. But it is not a controversial strategy at all to play a pure 5 next to him for stretches - or even to just be his backup - versus him and some other undersized Center like Reid having to get manhandled and in foul trouble all the time.

Everyone has known for a while that ATL was going to try to blow this up. Young is an All Star, and Okongwu/Cappella are appropriately paid guys who can give you center minutes, but everyone else is overpaid and/or unproductive. If MIN can buy low, then sure, but nothing crazy.

That is fine, but would still leave us with a hole at the 4 that can't be filled by Vando. Which would be really puzzling to me if we went into next year without a solution there. I would prioritize a starting 4 over a back up 5. Especially now that we drafted a back up 5 who would be fighting for minutes with Naz.

Don't necessarily disagree with you, but I'm just not sure we can pull it off this offseason. Also, keep in mind, our cupboard isn't totally empty. As much as we all talk about wanting Jaden to be our starting 3, the reality is he will spend a significant amount of time as a 4. We really need him to keep adding weight and getting stronger.

I'm fine with the KAT as a PF strategy. He's more of a 4 than a 5 offensively. And defensively, he's actually better switching out on to perimeter players than he is defending the paint. Finch is a pretty smart basketball guy (understatement alert) and after taking a close look he's apparently determined that KAT would pair well (maybe even better) with a true big center.

Actually, I agree Doper. That's why I want the Wolves to sign Jalen Smith.

Yeah I saw that. I really don't have insight or opinion on Smith. I'd take your word for it though. Write up the contract.
