Pacers at Wolves GDT
Re: Pacers at Wolves GDT
How many 40 point quarters are we going to give up this year? Unbelievable.

41-26 advantage for Indiana in the second quarter after Minnesota dominated the first quarter. Just wild to see the highs and lows of this team.

Can't defend without fouling

Getting hard to tell if I'm watching the Vikings or the Wolves with all these evaporating leads.
Re: Pacers at Wolves GDT
Wow total bullshit again.
Re: Pacers at Wolves GDT
Terrible second quarter for the Wolves. Problems with that quarter:
1. Russell killing the offensive flow
2. Too much bad Edwards - over-dribbling, slowing the offensive flow and looking myopically for his own shot.
3. Too many missed bunnies
Yes, the defense suffered when Rudy was out, but the Wolves offense faltered terribly at the same time. That' can't happen if this team is going to be relevant this season.

Re: Pacers at Wolves GDT
Indiana's defense didn't suddenly buckle down in the 2nd quarter. The Wolves needed to match their 35 point 1st quarter with a 35 point second quarter. Then in spite of the defensive issues with Rudy out the Wolves would still be up by at least 9 points rather than just 2. And that could end up being the difference in the game. Our offense has to keep rolling consistently quarter to quarter. We have the talent, but we're not executing.

I would disagree and suggest that Minnesota's inability to defend, and to defend without fouling, was the larger issue, but the offensive issues were apparent as well. That Luka Garza stretch was pretty rough, specifically. And of course you don't get outscored by 16 in a quarter without there being issues on both ends of the floor.
The good news is that the Wolves have notoriously been an awesome third quarter team so we have nothing to worry about. :)

Lol. And yes, there were definitely problems on both ends.
We're going to learn a lot about the Wolves in the 3rd quarter tonight. The Wolves should come out on fire after a half time when I would hope they were pissed as hell about their terrible 2nd quarter effort. We'll see. If they dominate the 3rd quarter and win the game that will be a big positive in my view. If they come out flat in the 3rd and lose, then it will further feed my pessimism about this team.
Re: Pacers at Wolves GDT
Jim Pete just pointed out that the Wolves missed a lot of layups. He also said it appeared the Wolves lost energy and focus on the 2nd. That's not acceptable.
