Personally I think that is just way to much. That means the wolves can't trade a 1st for 7 years. I think Murray is better then Dlo but Murray is a borderline all star. He might never make another all star game. He can also leave in 2 years.

Murray is an upgrade but I don't think he puts the wolves in the title picture. If we trade 3 1st round picks I want someone better than Murray

I'd trade 3 Kesslers for Murray. No hesitation. Wolves with their current players will never be in title contention, at least, with Murray they'd have some chance. DLO is not the answer and the Wolves will have a tough time getting out of the first round with DLO as the point guard. He can be exploited in the playoffs by good teams. What is your solution at point guard?

We have to conclude that Naz is a throw-in to any deal this offseason. He doesn't strengthen a trade package a whole lot.

I'm fine with trading Naz.

I wouldn't do that. The Spurs are smart (relative to where they are building their team) and selling Murray high.

Also people are asking why Atlanta are trading for Murray I think it's pretty simple. They want another big time shot creator and Murray and Young make sense as Young is a really good shooter and Murray can do all kinds of things.

Dejounte Murray is very good, but he's not great. I'm not giving up multiple first-round picks for him let alone three. I think San Antonio knows that this is the time to sell high since he just had a career year and has two years left on his current deal. I wouldn't be the one buying. Others will certainly disagree, but I don't think a Murray acquisition really boosts this team as much you might think it would. He's not without his flaws as a lead guard either.

I'm worried about him staying healthy too that's another reason I say no.

Well, looking at all the NBA rosters, these are the point guards that the Wolves might be able to acquire in a trade: Dejounte Murray, Brogdon, Kyrie and Monte Morris and these are available in free agency (Tyus, Delon Wright and John Wall). I don't know if any of the following would be available: Marcus Smart, Ben Simmons or Lonzo Ball, but if so, we'd probably have to trade a lot to get them. I see DeJounte Murray as Plan A, as he has the best upside and he is still young and improving. Plan B, C or D might be Tyus, Brogdon or Monte Morris.

Kyrie Ivving - I have no interest in him and he'd have no interest in the Woves
John Wall -- I have not interest in him.
Delon Wright - I have no interest in him
Brogdon -- I'm not sure he's an upgrade over DLO. So I question the wisdom of giving up any assets to get him.
Monte Morris -- Not sure about any trades with a division rival. I like Monte, but is he really an upgrade for DLO?
Marcus Smart -- I don't see any realistic deal to land him
Dejounte Murray -- Love to add him A terrific rebounder and we need rebounding. Also 9.2 assists. But would likely have to give up too much to get him

Tyus Jones -- There will probably be a lot of interest in him. If the Wolves trade DLO for a non-PG, then he'd be a guy to consider pursuing through free agency.

Ben Simmons - An intriguing option and I think he's gettable. Could possibly get him straight up for DLO. But does Ben really like playing basketball? Where's his head at? I his back OK? Lots of yellow cautionary flags.

Lonzo Ball -- If healthy, he'd be the perfect fit for the Wovles. His knee issues might make him a realistic trade target. But those same knee issues might mean the Wolves should stay away. He's the guy I think the Wolves should zero in on. Due diligence on his knee issue. Chicago really wants to make the playoffs next season. DLO or Beasley could help them achieve that goal. Maybe there's a deal to be done.

I hate to knock down a really solid idea, but Chicago is not going to trade Lonzo Ball unless they are absolutely blown away with an offer -- a deal so appealing that it probably shouldn't even be offered by the acquiring team. Not only did the Bulls just sign Ball last off-season, but they need him for the same reasons Minnesota would want him. Rather, the reasons why Ball is a potentially attractive fit next to Anthony Edwards are exactly why the Bulls want him next to Zach LaVine. I just don't see a potential deal there whatsoever.

The more options at point guard that are mentioned, the more it makes sense for Minnesota to retain D'Angelo Russell. While he's a flawed player, he's still a pretty damn good player. And what he brings to the Wolves has already proven to be beneficial. Furthermore, there's still more upside with him given his likely regression as an outside shooter. Minnesota should turn over every stone looking for upgrades, absolutely, but there is no shame in running it back with him. You can really do a lot worse than Russell.

If Ben Simmons is gettable, that is the direction I would go. Defense, rebounding, and setting up KAT and Ant. Like Lip says his head has to be right, but I can't think of a more perfect fit than a rejuvenated Ben Simmons.
