Lol. I agree.

I think it's critical to get Culver as many minutes as possible the rest of this season. It's imperative to give him a chance to increase his trade value for this upcoming off season. There's no way he can further diminish his value by playing. If that means no playing time for Layman and fewer minutes for Okogie, Ant and Beasley, then so be it.

It only took 14 games last year to boost Malik Beasley's stock. I don't expect Jarrett Culver to get as hot as Beas did last year, but it doesn't take much to go from zero value to some value.

I'm a Culver fan but if he doesn't play well I am not just handing him minutes.

Understand that, but tell me why Josh Okogie or Jake Layman need minutes? What purpose is there for those two in Minnesota?

Utah
gave the Knicks TWO 2nd rd. picks to take Davis off their hands... days before the Wolves swooped in with their deal.

I'm also glad they didn't ship out Rubio as it's become clear he's having an impact on Edwards. The rest of this season should be about seeing what the trio of KAT, DLo, and Edwards can dotogether as well as Beasley, McDaniels and others. Wait for the draft and then make moves at that time IMO.
Welcome back Grey. Agreed with what you are saying
Ditto!
Thanks. I've still been lurking here and there. I may try to post a bit more frequently.

Agreed. Being able to trade him by draft night would be nice. That night may be the biggest chance they have at an impactful trade and they'd be able to include the 1st rounder if the incoming piece was big enough.

It's more about him being able to help Edwards with leadership, enjoying the game, helping him relax, be better, be accountable, etc. If he's able to do any of those things better than most others on the team (which seems to be the case), then he's worth keeping around at least through the end of the season.

My thing with the Anthony Edwards - Ricky Rubio mentorship angle is that... what good has it done? Edwards is very much the same exact player that he was at Georgia. The skills, talent, and physical ability has been there since before Rubio returned to Minnesota and I'd argue no significant growth in his game has taken place. Edwards still makes all the same mistakes. He's taking the same [bad] quality of shots. His defense is still atrocious despite all the tools in the world. Granted, he's shown enough overall to remain hopeful, and I give him a little leeway because he didn't have a normal off-season, but tell me where the mentorship/leadership of Rubio is impacting Edwards because I haven't seen it. Is Rubio helping Edwards to be a professional off the court? Why should something like that cost $17-million when veterans like Jared Dudley make the minimum? Please understand that I'm not comparing Rubio to Dudley as players, but I'm very skeptical of the veteran mentor or leadership angle, especially when it doesn't yield discernible results.
