In the years I lived in the Twin Cities I always looked forward to, but hated the arrival of football season. It's always followed so closely by winter. Now that I live in Vegas I welcome the loss of triple digit temps in favor of fall and winter!!

Let's play some Football!!

FWIW Here are some grades from Pro Football Focus on the last preseason game.

Seems about right and they did a reasonable job of qualifying bubble guys. The guys spots I wonder most about keeping their spots are Brothers and Shamar.

Anyone have any thoughts after the latest preseason game? Here are mine.

Oline in general looked better.

Heinicke was less bad. Keenum has tha backup spot locked up. I guess Heinicke has a minor injury so they brought in Leidner. There does seem to be some legit talk about Teddy actually being healthy and ready to play if needed this season.

Ben Gedeon keeps getting looks with the starters. I wonder if he just is in the right place all the time. That's basically what Greenway did.

Sherels is small but he can cover guys. If that dude was like 2 inches taller he would make some nice money.

Eric Wilson flashed again.

Bower continues to look good.

I though the starting D looked ok especially considering they were missing a couple starters and then Newman left. The Seahawks receivers made some terrific plays on a couple drives. How many times do we see the Vikings D look just ok and then it becomes pretty stingy as the game goes on?

I wonder if LST has had any chats with Adam Zimmer lately.

Didn't see the game, but it sounds like the DL is really a strength. Rookies Jaleel Johnson, Tashawn Bower, Jaleel Johnson and Ifeadi Odenigbo impressed. Gideon playing with starters and Elflein looking to have the inside track on starting center job. This looks like a strong rookie group.

I had to check out the guy we didn't pick that I wanted and he is doing well for the Chragers.

A forced fumble and interception last week. A sack, tackle for loss, quarterback hit and pass defensed this week. He may only have two preseason games on professional football under his belt, but rookie Desmond King is making plays.

Among rookies that look good I forgot to even mention Cook.

I also am glad to see that Hill looked good at LT last game. I hope he doesn't see many snaps, but it is nice to see someone that might be serviceable. After all of the playing time given to Clemmings it looks like his days here are numbered.

Who is the backup RT right now? I haven't been paying attention in preseason. That guy might be the player that gets the final spot. It seems like most spots are locked down especially if Isidora is in and I haven't seen anything that makes me think his hype train has slowed to him being just another one of the young guys fighting for a spot.

Edit

Beavers was the guy that got the snaps behind Remmers in the seahawks game.

I think Hill is being given the role of backing up both LT/RT. Beavers did get the backup snaps. I am surprised how Sirles and less so that Clemmings don't seem to have a good shot at making the team. Any word on Kerin? Isidora seems to have killed his chances of making the team.

Good read on Boone. I honestly am thinking he could be traded. I think he might be a better backup at LT/LG than a starter at this point.

I'm not seeing any reason why Sirles is not making the team.
