Culver was a tier or two ahead of anyone we could have drafted at #11 according to most tiers I saw. And it only cost us Dario to move up 5 spots? While I liked Dario, there is no denying he was a poor fit with KAT on the defensive end. And he is one year from getting paid. Seems like Rosas came out of this draft with pretty decent value.

But, yes, there is a LOT of work left to be done.

You might be right about me being unduly down on Culver. But I'm not feeling it right now. As for Dario, don't forget that he was a valuable trade asset. We could have drafted a player like Alexander-Walker who looks on paper and on film to be every bit as good as Culver and still had Saric as a trade asset to acquire more picks or help clear cap space for D. Russell or someone else.

Dario was also like our second best 3pt shooter behind KAT so while he may not be a great fit next to KAT defensively, it's never good to lose shooting and not get the same if not more back in this era of the league. Everyone seems to think he's just a throwaway asset, but he could be better than both Culver and Cam when all is said and done.

It's not that he's a throwaway asset. The guy got us up 5 spots to the 6th pick. The problem was that he wasn't long for this place and in reality wasn't gonna be re-signed long term. You'd think if Rosas learned anything from his time in Houston it's how to spot a good three point shooter when he sees one.
