D'Antoni bugged me at some of his stops before he got to the Rockets but I absolutely thought he was in a bad spot and the roster did not fit him in either place. The Rockets made a ton of sense. Interestingly even before Melo played a lot in isolation. It was a different though because of the 3 point shooting on the roster and obvious emphasis on that plus the high level passing ability of BOTH Harden and Chris Paul. I think the Rockets will figure it out and come back from this and be pretty good assuming they stay relatively healthy. It would be interesting if they keep struggling and they went all in (relatively speaking) on getting Butler.
I don't know what "all in" on Jimmy would mean. Would that mean all four picks being unprotected? I'd consider the deal a nonstarter if any of those picks were protected. Otherwise, Houston doesn't really have anything to give us unless they agree to include Capela, which isn't going to happen.

I'd say all in (reasonably speaking) is all the picks unprotected plus Gordon and Chriss. I know you don't value Gordon but he makes 2 million less than Knight and can actually play. There was an archival on the athletic that painted him as a guy that's super even keeled which sounds like a guy we could use. Good or bad Thibs is gonna play him. If he sucks that just means more loses and we get a better pick and Thibs will get fired. If Gordon shows he can play and puts up some numbers...maybe he isna guy that keeps things interesting and maybe a team wants him for a stretch run at the deadline etc. see Lip it's a win-win-win. :)
Side note: If Houston was innthe eastern conference I think this does make it a bit harded tondo the deal. If it's the best deal you still do it but it does give me pause. Also I might even be ok with the last 1st round pick turn into 2nds if I felt like I basically had to do the deal. I realize that one being unporotectes could be the most valuable pick. I just don't want any picks that completely disappear if they aren't conveyed.
As I said in the Sacramento thread...right now in my reaction to last night's game. Trade Butler. Let's move on. It won't happen and it probably shouldn't but you know what I mean.

Monster - I would have taken your all-in deal with Houston over the deal just we made with the Sixers. Getting all 4 picks unprotected plus Gordon wouldn't have been ideal for me, but would have been a better outcome. At least that Houston deal would have been focused on the future with Gordon potentially helping keep the Wolves competitive in the short run. Bout alas, the speculation is over and the stench of mediocrity is settling in as we behold the outcome of this long wait.

It's significant and it frequently happens with title teams because you just stop wanting to put up with it for the sake of another title at some point. Honestly I'm ready for Draymond to get off that team and show the world that he's actually not that great of a basketball player without the scorers he has around him. He's a role player in the perfect scenario and he's got a big head because of it.

I'm not particularly concerned about this year but more curious about Durant leaving. That would be SIGNIFICANT not only to the team but to the NBA landscape in general.
I think a significant amount of turmoil (there actually has to be plenty of it) could actually put their title hopes in jeopardy but that's dependent on the teams they have to face. I'm not sure if the West will actually have a team as good as the Rockets were last year. The East could end up with a more balanced challenger than the Cavs were last year.
