Lip, You keep throwing Capela's name out there, but I'd put him right near the best of the best when it comes to starting Centers in the NBA. He was absolutely key to Atlanta's run during the playoffs and believe it or not is only 27 years old. If I were Atlanta, Capela is more important to my franchise than Collins. I think he's that critical to them.

All true. I suppose I should put him in the unattainable/unrealistic bucket with Richaun Holmes. Now I'm down to one elite candidate, Myles Turner. Bummer.

The good news is I think there is a glut of bigs on the market. While it may be difficult to obtain a Capela or Turner, the talent pool gets almost exponentially larger at the next tier down. Rosas needs to have his analytics guys go figure out who is the absolute best all-around defensive bigs available at various price points from about $18M per year (that would be someone we get in a trade obivously) down to around $3 or $4M.

One thing he mentioned in his presser is that with the offensive firepower of KAT and others, they don't necessarily need much offense from their second big. I think Ed Davis was hypothetically supposed to be that guy last year, but he's obviously too extreme of an offensive liability, so it just didn't work out with him.

I sure hope we can do better defensively than Ed Davis. Offense wasn't his only problem. If we an get a big who's better defensively than Davis, then we might as well stick with our current roster.
