His injuries keep piling on and his recovery has been delayed multiple times. It's a shame, really. That kid has elite physicality that would be difficult to matchup with on a nightly basis and it's being zapped from him before his career can even get started.

That's assuming he would have figured out how to play.

There are many uber-athletic guys who just never hit because they weren't all that great at the basketball stuff.

Wiseman might have figured things out like Edwards did after a mediocre start to his career. But it's not (was not) a sure thing.

[Note: I was never a Wiseman guy. To be fair, I wasn't much of an Edwards guy either. I was firmly in the camp of trading down for Haliburton. Two years ago, I was in the camp of trading down for Clarke. Despite the solid play from those two, those extra assets in those trades would have had to be pretty damn good, however, to ever match up to the Edwards (or Ball) potential in this league. Those guys are the potential superstars that can change franchises.]

Hmm...a glimpse of the future of a 2-way star? That footwork may be even superior to Jaden's.

Love how we missed the rebound after all that hard work.

I've said it before....he has one of these generational athletic profiles that comes along only every once in a while. In the NBA, he has an almost unparalleled combination of size, strength, speed, and agility. He's not quite LeBron, but he's probably a bigger version of Wade. The question with him will be continued skill development - improving the handles, passing precision, defensive reads, and the shot-making from the more awkward distances (he tends to struggle with anything in the mid-range).

Anthony Edwards has now officially crossed over into a net positive on both ends of the court per RAPTOR advanced stats. Who would have thought this would have happened after the first half of his rookie year, let alone before he is even old enough to drink! Outstanding job by Chris Finch benching him until he bought into playing defense early on in his career, as well as Edwards for putting in the work.

Same thing on the EPM metric - he's positive on both O-EPM and D-EPM. Very good sign for the future.

I really think his next frontier is going to be on the physical/health side with him. I'd like to see him shed a few pounds and become more of a health/wellness nut. We don't want him to become like party/fatboy Harden even though he's still very young and can probably handle it OK for now. Just not sure how disciplined he is with things like diet, etc.

Edwards needs to work on his floater game and drawing fouls on drives. If he could cut down his 1-on-1 time before making a move, it would help as well.

I believe Beverly actually said on the podcast with JJ Redick Edwards was doing a lot of these type of things this year already. One thing I like about Edwards is it seems like he actually likes playing defense. Idk if I would call him a killer on that end yet (he isn't there on offense yet either) but it feels like there is some actual edge on D.
