I'm a charter member of that club too, WW...like his potential a lot, and especially if he can hit threes. The start of the Wolves season has been quite discouraging, and if they come back from California 3-8, it could put them into a tailspin that might convince Gupta to try to unload DLo and Beasley at the trade deadline, and maybe even KAT. If so, we might see a lot of
Wright and Bolmaro the last half of the season. Might be fun.
I'm not convinced yet on either of these two, although it's definitely nice to see them perform well in the G-League. We've seen Nowell and McLaughlin perform really well in the G-League only to become meh third stringers on one of the losing-est teams in the NBA the last couple of years. Vanderbilt and Naz were fun to watch too. Yet they haven't really moved the needle either.
Bottom line is this....I honestly can't trust anymore that whatever we see in any setting other than the actual NBA Wolves will translate. College excellence, overseas excellence, G-League excellence, etc. Playing really well in any of those settings just never seems to translate to winning basketball once these guys put on a Timberwolves jersey.
I'm not either, Q. I love Wright's competitiveness defense, but he certainly hasn't proven to be an elite distributor in either college or pros. And Bolmaro is a total wild card for me. But I am fairly certain our current roster doesn't have playoff potential, and I think you may have predicted even fewer wins than me (although it looks like we both may have been too optimistic :-(), so why not try something new if we get through the first half of the season with a .250 winning percentage? Rookies like Bolmaro and Wright aren't going to give us more wins this season, but they would likely give us a better shot at Chet Holmgren...and it might be more entertaining.
Anyways, thanks for the G League info...

Don't disagree that if we go into re-build mode, these guys should be getting playing time with the big league club. I think it may happen anyway, as we are eventually going to see more injuries as the season wears on and the front office will want to get these guys some NBA game reps.
