Average numbers for a team everyone was picking to be below average. Our early schedule may have had a lot to do with it in spite of all the road games.
Also worth noting that those offensive numbers include playing 2 games without Towns and 4 games without a PG. If we stay middle of the road defensively that would be a pretty big win. I think there is an actual chance we do that. offensively we will be better than 20th.
While true, it also includes Andrew Wiggins playing out of his mind for half of that stretch and Karl-Anthony Towns being the best player in the NBA for the first three games of the year. So, take that for what it's worth.
I agree that if the team defense can continue to perform at or around this level that it would be a big win. The biggest contributors to these improvements on the court are Robert Covington, Treveon Graham, Josh Okogie, and Towns.
